Beta Squad is a London YouTube group known for big-budget group challenges, the Mafia game, “guess the celebrity” lineups and its “6 vs 1 Secret” series. Five creators founded it in February 2019: Chunkz, Niko Omilana, King Kenny, AJ Shabeel and Sharky, whom Moxie, the talent management arm of Studio71 UK, moved into a London house for a 12-month “online reality project,” per Tubefilter. The group outlasted that year: the Beta Squad channel has about 12.2 million subscribers, 205 videos and more than 2.1 billion views, and in June 2024 it played AMP in front of a sold-out Selhurst Park, per Tubefilter. As of November 2026 the lineup is the same five it started with: every upload through October 31, 2026 lists all of them under “Subscribe to everyone!”, and nobody has announced leaving. The group now releases its videos in seasons, so its channel goes quiet for weeks or months between them.

Every upload on the Beta Squad channel through 6 Jamaicans vs 1 Secret British Person on October 31, 2026 lists them under “Subscribe to everyone!”: “Aj: @AjShabeel, Sharky: @sharky, Chunkz: @Chunkz, Niko: @Niko, Kenny: @KingKennyTV.” Famous Birthdays lists the same five. Who left Beta Squad? Who got kicked out of Beta Squad?
Nobody has left Beta Squad as of November 2026, and we found no report in an accepted outlet that any member was kicked out. The five members Tubefilter named in February 2019 are the five listed in the group’s October 31, 2026 upload. What people often read as a departure is a break: the channel went quiet before its February 12, 2020 trailer, Beta Squad: The Return, and again from June 22, 2024 until a second trailer on March 25, 2025. The group now runs in seasons; its October 10, 2026 mukbang previews Season 5. Darkest Man, Chunkz’s cousin, is sometimes thought to be a former member; he never was.
Is Kenny still in Beta Squad? Was King Kenny kicked out, and did he go to jail?
Yes, King Kenny is still in Beta Squad as of November 2026: the group’s October 31, 2026 upload lists “Kenny: @KingKennyTV” with the other four, and we found no report in an accepted outlet that he was removed. He has been a member since the group started in 2019. We also found no report in a major news outlet that he has been jailed; prison is a setting Beta Squad films in for content, as in LAST TO LEAVE THE PRISON. His biggest recent news is television: he played a traitor on The Celebrity Traitors and was banished in the final, per ITV News on October 30, 2026. More on our King Kenny entry.
Did AJ leave Beta Squad? How old is AJ from Beta Squad, and where is he from?
No, AJ Shabeel has not left Beta Squad as of November 2026: he is listed first among the five in every group upload through October 31, 2026, and we found no report in an accepted outlet that he is leaving. He is 30, born August 30, 1996 in Leidschendam-Voorburg, the Netherlands, per Famous Birthdays, and he met Chunkz when they worked at the same cinema in London, per Tubefilter. He posts less often on his own channel than the group does, which is where the leaving rumors start. His full story is on our AJ Shabeel entry.
How old are the Beta Squad members? Beta Squad ages
The oldest member of Beta Squad is Sharky, 30 (born December 31, 1995), and the youngest is Niko Omilana, 28 (born March 4, 1998), per Famous Birthdays as of November 2026. In between: Chunkz is 30 (February 21, 1996), AJ Shabeel is 30 (August 30, 1996) and King Kenny is 29 (March 20, 1997). Sources: Famous Birthdays pages for Sharky, Chunkz, AJ, Kenny and Niko.

King Kenny goes by Kenny, Sharky started his channel as afcSharky, and AJ Shabeel goes by AJ; none of them has published a full legal name, and no outlet we accept has printed one, so we do not list them. For the name people also ask about, Darkest Man, who is not a member, is Ahmed Yare, per Famous Birthdays.
Where are Beta Squad from? When did Beta Squad start, and where is the Beta Squad house?

The members come from around England and the Netherlands: Chunkz was born in London, Niko in Staffordshire, King Kenny in Watford, AJ Shabeel in Leidschendam-Voorburg and Sharky in Utrecht, per Famous Birthdays. On October 24, 2020 the group posted a tour of a new house; we give the city only and never a house location.

Beta Squad’s ownership has not been published as of November 2026. The group began as a project of Moxie, Studio71 UK’s talent management unit, which called it its largest creator investment to date, per Tubefilter; in October 2019 Tubefilter reported the group was represented at Moxie and part of the Studio71 network. AJ Shabeel and Chunkz are not reported to be related: they met as co-workers at a cinema, per Tubefilter, and Sharky met them after finding out he lived near Chunkz. Famous Birthdays says Chunkz, Sharky and AJ also formed a YouTube group called MANDM before Beta Squad.
What is the difference between NDL and Beta Squad? Did Niko run for mayor?
NDL is Niko Omilana’s own brand and Beta Squad is the five-person group he belongs to. Famous Birthdays describes him as the founder of the NDL Movement, which sells merchandise, and he announced his 2021 run for Mayor of London as “founding father and supreme leader of the Niko Defence League,” per Complex. Our read
Ames Create does not work with Beta Squad. This is our view, from a team that works on creator brands for a living.
The format. Beta Squad is a game show where the hosts are the contestants: a rule, a prize or a forfeit, and five friends who argue about it, often with a famous guest. The lineup formats, from False Identity to “6 vs 1 Secret,” put strangers or celebrities in the chair and let the group’s commentary carry the video.
Why it travels. The group channel is where the views are: its most watched uploads reach 20 to 43 million views each. Football carries furthest off the channel, from Beta Squad FC in 2019 to a sold-out Selhurst Park in 2024, and the members’ outside moments, Niko’s mayoral run and two Celebrity Traitors runs, keep sending new viewers back to the group.
Brand fit. Football, food, travel and games are the group’s recurring subjects. It has filmed with the American group AMP and made USA editions of its formats, and celebrity guests from Ed Sheeran to Trent Alexander-Arnold show the format can carry big names. Deals for the group go through its listed Beta Studios contact; members also sign their own.
