Questions people ask
Who is AJ Shabeel?
AJ Shabeel is a YouTuber and one of the five members of Beta Squad, the British YouTube group with Niko Omilana, Chunkz, Sharky and King Kenny. Famous Birthdays says he started his own channel on October 1, 2015, built it on comedic pranks, challenges and basketball videos, and joined Beta Squad in 2019. Today his channel runs bigger productions such as $1 vs $10,000 Restaurant (August 30, 2026) and I Built a Football Stadium in My House! (November 23, 2025). He has also released music on the channel, including Left Her and My Life, which has more than 1.1 million views.
Did AJ Shabeel leave Beta Squad? Is he still in Beta Squad? Why did he leave?
No, as of November 2026 AJ Shabeel is still a member of Beta Squad. Every upload on the Beta Squad channel through 6 Jamaicans vs 1 Secret British Person on October 31, 2026 lists “Aj: @AjShabeel” first among the five members, and he is listed in all four of the group’s October 2026 uploads. We found no report in an accepted outlet that he left, and he has not posted a goodbye video on his channel or the group’s. Part of the confusion is the group’s schedule: Beta Squad now runs in seasons, so its channel goes quiet for weeks at a time. It posted nothing between July 4 and October 10, 2026, then returned with a mukbang in which, per its description, all five discuss the upcoming Season 5.
What happened to AJ Shabeel? Where is he now?
As of November 2026, AJ Shabeel is still filming with Beta Squad and posting on his own channel, just less often than the group. His channel published four videos in 2026, most recently $1 vs $10,000 Restaurant on August 30, 2026, which had about 2.2 million views by November. His biggest recent uploads are the Beta Squad football slip n slide videos he posts on his channel each summer: the July 2025 edition passed 13 million views and the July 19, 2026 edition about 7 million. If the question comes from an older video, his channel also has I Went MISSING for 48 Hours (Social Experiment), a video from about 2018 that its title calls a social experiment.
Why did AJ Shabeel move out?
AJ Shabeel has not explained a move on the record in anything we could source, and we found no report of one in an accepted outlet. What is public: his November 23, 2025 video I Built a Football Stadium in My House! is, by its title, set in his own house, and the group still films together every season. If he explains why he moved, this entry will add it.
Why did AJ Shabeel go to prison? Was AJ Shabeel in jail?
We found no report of an arrest of AJ Shabeel in a major news outlet. What is public: prison is a setting he has filmed in for content more than once. His own February 4, 2023 video, I Survived 50 Hours In Solitary Confinement, is a challenge in which, per its description, he spends 50 hours alone with no phone, and it has about 3.8 million views. Beta Squad has also posted LAST TO LEAVE THE PRISON, with about 17 million views, plus TRAPPED IN PRISON and LAST TO LEAVE SOLITARY CONFINEMENT.
What happened to AJ Shabeel and Niko?
AJ Shabeel and Niko Omilana have not described a falling out in anything we could source, and we found no report of one in an accepted outlet. What is public: as of November 2026 they are still in Beta Squad together, both listed in every group upload through October 31, 2026, and Niko has appeared on AJ’s own channel, for example in DON’T CHOOSE THE WRONG MYSTERY DRINK CHALLENGE! with Chunkz. If either of them addresses it on the record, this entry will add it.
What happened to AJ Shabeel’s leg?
AJ Shabeel has not discussed a leg injury in anything we could source, and we found no report of one in an accepted outlet, so we do not repeat one. He does play in the group’s football events: Dexerto listed him among Beta Squad’s attackers for the June 2, 2024 Beta Squad vs AMP match at Selhurst Park.
How old is AJ Shabeel? What is his real name?
AJ Shabeel is 30, born August 30, 1996, per Famous Birthdays. He goes by AJ (written Aj on his channels); he has not published a full legal name, and we found none in an accepted outlet, so we do not print one.
Where is AJ Shabeel from?
AJ Shabeel was born in Leidschendam-Voorburg, the Netherlands, per Famous Birthdays. His career is in the UK with Beta Squad, whose events, such as the 2024 match with AMP, are staged in London.
Where can I watch AJ Shabeel?
AJ Shabeel posts on his own YouTube channel and appears in the weekly videos on the Beta Squad channel, which has about 12.2 million subscribers. He is on TikTok and Instagram as @ajshabeel and on X as @AjShabeel.
What is AJ Shabeel’s net worth?
AJ Shabeel does not publish a number and neither do we.
What is AJ Shabeel’s ethnicity or religion? Who is his girlfriend or family?
Not something we cover.
Who represents AJ Shabeel?
As of November 2026, no agent or manager is named publicly for AJ Shabeel; Beta Squad’s video descriptions list a business email at Beta Studios for the group’s partnerships. Ames Create does not represent him; we cover him because people keep asking whether AJ left Beta Squad, and the group’s own uploads answer it. If that changes, this entry will say so.
Our read
Ames Create does not work with AJ Shabeel. This is our view, from a team that works on creator brands for a living.
The format. Two lanes. In Beta Squad he is one of five voices in a format built on group games, forfeits and a lot of shouting. On his own channel he runs the solo version of the same idea: a big setup in the title, $1 against $10,000 or 50 hours in one place, and him reacting to it.
Why it travels. His numbers ride the group. His own channel posts a handful of times a year, while the summer slip n slide videos he posts with Beta Squad, past 13 million views at their best, are his biggest uploads. Football is the thread that carries furthest, from the slip n slide to the 2024 AMP match.
Brand fit. Brands that already sit inside Beta Squad: the group’s uploads carry Revolut, Top Eleven and its own Beta Squad Shades at Sainsbury’s. That points to fintech, games, food and football for a young UK audience. Expect deals to run through the group’s business contact rather than AJ alone.
