Questions people ask
What is Streamer University? Is it a real school?
Streamer University is a multi-day, live-streamed boot camp for aspiring creators run by Kai Cenat, not an accredited college. Complex noted in July 2026 that it is not formally accredited. It does happen on real campuses: the University of Akron hosted it in 2025 and Hendrix College in 2026. Students sleep in the dorms, take classes from famous streamers, join clubs and compete for awards, all on camera, and Kotaku described the first one as part reality show, part social experiment, part actual classes.
Who made Streamer University, and who owns it?
Streamer University was created by Kai Cenat, the Twitch streamer, who hosts it and plays its “dean.” His own production team organizes it: the University of Akron said a member of that team arranged the 2025 campus, and KATV said Cenat’s team approached Hendrix College for 2026. We found no published company name behind it. His group AMP announced the 2026 season, per Net Influencer, and Cenat told Complex audiences he plans to keep it going for as long as he is alive.
When and where was Streamer University 2026, and why Arkansas?
Streamer University 2026 ran July 15 to 20, 2026, at Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas, per Hendrix College. Arkansas came down to the campus, not the state: Hendrix said Cenat’s team was drawn to its Harry Potter-like look, and president Karen Petersen told KATV that the team reached out, visited several times, “fell in love with the place” and rented the entire campus. The college would not say what it was paid.
Who is in Streamer University 2026?
Streamer University 2026 had about 120 in-person students, chosen from applicants who had to be 18 or older under the rules Complex printed. Named students included Stable Ronaldo, Silky, JasonTheWeen, PlaqueBoyMax, Skai Jackson, DreamDoll and Queen Naija, per Complex and Net Influencer. Professors included Adapt, Ludwig, Pokimane, Lizzo, Cinna, Duke Dennis and Agent 00, and T-Pain and Lethal Shooter ran clubs. Chris Heria livestreamed fitness contests from campus, and Fanum ran the mock campus police. The full class list was posted on the official site.
Who won Streamer University?
Streamer University has no single champion: Tylil was named valedictorian in 2025 and SuburbBaby was named MVP in 2026, at each edition’s closing awards ceremony. In 2025, Tylil was named valedictorian, per Kotaku, and DDG was named MVP, per Net Influencer. In 2026, SuburbBaby was named Streamer University MVP and ClarenceNyc was MVP of the basketball game after scoring 30 points, per Complex. The Source reported a $50,000 brand deal among the 2026 prizes.
Why did Streamer University end? Did it end early or get shut down?
Streamer University was not cut short in either year in any report we accept; each edition ended on schedule with an awards ceremony. The 2025 edition closed on May 25 after four days, per the University of Akron, and the 2026 edition closed on July 20, per Hendrix College. What was shut down in 2026 was the Atlanta audition on June 17, which police halted because of the crowd (next question). The format is short by design: a few days on campus, streamed nonstop.
What happened at the Streamer University Atlanta auditions? Was there a shooting?
The Streamer University audition in Atlanta on June 17, 2026, was stopped because of crowd size, and police said there were no significant incidents there. Thousands gathered outside State Farm Arena hours early, police let people in about 200 at a time, and Atlanta police announced around 2:15 p.m. that auditions had “officially concluded,” per FOX 5 Atlanta. Police said there were no significant incidents or public safety events at the audition; seven arrests were made at two unpermitted gatherings tied to the event on June 15 and 16.
How much does Streamer University cost, and how do you get in?
Streamer University is free for the students it accepts, and in both years more than a million people applied for about 120 spots. Hendrix College said 2026 participants were chosen through auditions and attended at no charge, and the 2025 class had food and lodging covered plus a T-Mobile phone to stream from, per Cosmopolitan. In 2026, applicants had to be 18 or older, have a social media account and send a one to three minute video, per Complex. By our arithmetic, 120 spots for more than a million applicants is an acceptance rate of about 0.01 percent or lower.
How does Streamer University work, and how long does it last?
Streamer University runs for four to six days, with students living on campus and streaming from their own channels the whole time. The 2025 edition lasted four days, per the University of Akron; Hendrix College lists the 2026 edition as July 15 to 20. Famous streamers teach classes by specialty (IRL, gaming, Just Chatting), club directors run music, film, basketball and debate, and the week fills with a pep rally, a fashion show, a basketball game, a talent show and an awards ceremony. Cenat streams the main events on his own Twitch and YouTube.
What happened at Streamer University 2026? Did anyone leave early?
Streamer University 2026 was the bigger, louder sequel, and we found no accepted report naming a student who left early. MrBeast announced a $100,000 campus treasure hunt, per Hendrix College. Complex reported that students broke the 11 p.m. curfew for an off-campus club party and that Cenat flew over in a helicopter and sent them back to campus on buses; it did not say anyone was expelled. Complex also recapped DDG’s “Dorm Watch,” water gun and hot sauce battles, and a proposal at the awards.
Where was the first Streamer University in 2025, and who was there?
The first Streamer University was held May 22 to 25, 2025, at the University of Akron in Ohio, per the university. It had 120 students and 17 professors, among them DDG, Duke Dennis, Agent 00, India Love and ExtraEmily, per Net Influencer. Tylil was valedictorian, per Kotaku, and Nina Lin posted her audition for it on YouTube. Some streamers questioned how students were picked, per Cosmopolitan.
Is Streamer University over? When is the next one?
As of October 2026, Streamer University is between editions, and the next one is set for 2027 in Europe. Cenat announced it at the end of the 2026 awards stream, saying “Streamer University 2027 will be taking place in Europe,” per Complex. The official site lists the Class of 2027 with the city to be announced, and no dates have been published.
How big is Streamer University?
Streamer University is one of the most-watched events on Twitch: the 2026 edition logged nearly 57 million hours watched and a peak of 1.45 million viewers across about 6,000 channels, per Streams Charts figures cited by Hendrix College. That was more than double 2025, which Streams Charts put at over 26 million hours and a 731,000 peak, per Net Influencer. Twitch gave the 2025 event its own category.
Our read
Ames Create does not work with Streamer University. This is our view, from a team that works on creator brands for a living.
The format. It is a reality show built out of other people’s streams. Put 120 hungry creators in one dorm, give each a camera and a schedule, and every hallway becomes a broadcast. The classes give the week a shape, the awards give it an ending, and the chaos in between is the content.
Why it travels. The reach comes from the network, not one channel. Thousands of channels stream the same week from different angles, so a single moment shows up on dozens of feeds and gets clipped from all of them. For students it is a launch: the awards and roommate pairings put names like [Tylil](/who-is-tylil) in front of Cenat’s audience, which is many times their own.
Brand fit. Brands are already part of the furniture: T-Mobile phones in 2025, an Epic Games Fortnite hunt and a MrBeast treasure hunt in 2026, and brand deals handed out as prizes. The fit is products a young audience uses live, phones, games, snacks and drinks, built into a challenge rather than read as an ad. The trade-off is control; the week is unscripted, and that is the point.
