Corey Scherer is a YouTuber and former Vine dancer known for ghost hunting, first alongside Sam and Colby and later with Elton Castee on the paranormal channel OVERNIGHT. In October 2019 Variety reported that he and Jake Webber went with Sam Golbach and Colby Brock on their U.K. trip, and by 2022 he was co-hosting OVERNIGHT and the Haunted Homies podcast with Castee. He left OVERNIGHT in 2024, and on July 16, 2024 the channel posted its own account of his exit, the truth about corey quitting. As of November 2026 he posts on his own channel, which has about 1.6 million subscribers on YouTube, and on Corey and Devyn, the ghost-hunting channel he started in June 2024.

What is public: Sam and Colby is the duo of Sam Golbach and Colby Brock, and Corey was one of the friends in their early videos, from a Sam and Colby upload titled DANCING LESSONS w/ COREY SCHERER around 2015 to EXPLORING ABANDONED NEWS STATION (w/ Elton & Corey) around 2018. In October 2019 Variety reported that “two of their friends, Jake Webber and Corey” went with them on their U.K. ghost-hunting trip and stayed in a rented castle in Scotland. By June 2022 he was filming paranormal videos with Elton Castee on OVERNIGHT instead, per Jim Harold’s Paranormal Podcast. We could not date his last Sam and Colby appearance, and we found no report of a dispute between them.
What happened between Corey Scherer and Elton Castee? Why did Corey leave Overnight?
Corey Scherer quit OVERNIGHT, Elton Castee’s paranormal channel, in 2024, and the channel later posted its own account of how he left. The order of events on their own channels: on April 22, 2024 Corey posted WE NEED TO TALK, described as “Thought I should address some rumors.” On June 11, 2024 he posted This Isn’t Goodbye..., which points viewers to his new channel, Corey and Devyn. On July 16, 2024 OVERNIGHT posted the truth about corey quitting, whose description calls it “a long overdue explanation of his abrupt departure from the channel” and asks viewers not to harass anyone. We found no report on the split in a major news outlet, so we link both men’s videos rather than retell their claims, and as of November 2026 we found no public statement that they have made up.
What is Overnight, and who is on it now?
OVERNIGHT is a paranormal YouTube channel from Elton Castee’s travel channel TFIL, and Corey Scherer was one of its main faces until 2024. Its YouTube About page calls it “the newest channel from your friends at TFIL” and lists about 1.96 million subscribers and 280 videos as of November 2026. Castee told Jim Harold’s Paranormal Podcast in June 2022 that the ghost-hunting series began when COVID stopped their travel, as “25 weeks of haunted.” The pair also hosted the Haunted Homies podcast, whose description named “Elton Castee & Corey Scherer of the OVERNIGHT channel.” In 2026 the channel’s uploads feature Castee with comedian Matt Rife, including a May 21, 2026 livestream announcing a new Warren museum location. One of its most watched videos, at about 3.6 million views, is POSSESSION of COREY SCHERER at THE REAL CONJURING HOUSE.

Corey Scherer was badly hurt in a jet ski accident in 2016 and told the story himself in a video titled MY ACCIDENT - The Full Story, which has about 940,000 views. Its description lists his injuries in his own words: “9 broken ribs, hole in lungs, slices in spleen, 5 broken processes.” He kept making videos afterwards. We found nothing from him or an accepted outlet about a hand injury, so we do not describe one.

The format. He is the one who reacts. In a ghost-hunting video someone has to hear the noise first, go quiet and decide whether to run, and for years that was his job next to the hosts. The Conjuring House video built around him is the clearest case: the premise is simply that something happens to Corey.
Why it travels. His audience grew up with the Sam and Colby and OVERNIGHT universe, and much of his search traffic comes from that world rather than his own uploads. The 2024 split with Elton Castee sends people back to his name every time either channel comes up, and his own uploads now run small next to the 1.96 million subscribers OVERNIGHT still has.
Brand fit. Halloween events, haunted attractions, horror releases, paranormal gear and candles all suit the lane, and he has posted tagged ads on his channel before, in 2022. A brand should know that his main channel has been quiet since mid-2024 and that his About page now sends viewers to live streams on PumpFun.
