Questions people ask
Who is Funny Marco? Why is he famous?
Funny Marco is a comedian and YouTuber, real name Marco Summers, who is famous first for prank and skit videos and then for Open Thoughts, his celebrity interview show. Famous Birthdays says he debuted on YouTube in 2018 with a video called Kansas City first 48 and that one skit passed 11.5 million views. What happened to Funny Marco?
As of October 2026, nothing has been reported to have happened to Funny Marco: he is still posting and touring. In the last week of October 2026 his own YouTube channel posted a new car reveal and Open Thoughts posted an interview with Kirk Franklin, and his Punchup page sells tickets to a nationwide stand-up tour. The stories people search about him are older: a 2023 lawsuit, the 2023 G Herbo and Southside interview, the 2024 tour with Bobbi Althoff that he canceled, and his August 2026 interview with NBA YoungBoy. Each one is below.
What happened between Funny Marco and NBA YoungBoy? Why did they beef?
As of October 2026, we found no beef between Funny Marco and NBA YoungBoy reported in an accepted outlet; what is on record is an interview. On August 9, 2026 Marco posted a preview of his Open Thoughts sit-down with YoungBoy, and XXL reported on August 10 that in it YoungBoy said he was not focused on music and talked about his health. KTLA, in a report republished by Las Vegas station KLAS on August 13, 2026, said the interview was filmed in South Korea, that it was Marco’s first trip abroad, that it passed 1.8 million views in 24 hours, and that YoungBoy said he would “never in life” move back to the U.S. The full interview had about 5.6 million views by late October 2026.
What happened with Funny Marco and G Herbo?
Funny Marco’s October 2023 interview with G Herbo and Southside went viral because the two rappers insulted him on camera, and Herbo later said Marco’s own production staff had asked them to troll him. Revolt reported on December 3, 2023 that Herbo called him goofy and told him to shut up, that Marco’s $30,000 watch was allegedly broken, and that Southside offered him a replacement while saying the one he threw was fake. Marco posted on Facebook on October 16, 2023 that he understood fans were upset and had chosen not to match their energy, and in a later stand-up set he said Herbo’s team wanted the video taken down. On Drink Champs in February 2024, Herbo said the two already had a relationship, that Marco’s production staff had asked them to troll him, and that they went “a little extra overboard,” as HotNewHipHop reported on February 13, 2024.
What happened between Funny Marco and Bobbi Althoff?
Funny Marco and Bobbi Althoff went from a podcast interview to a joint comedy tour that he canceled in 2024. Althoff interviewed him on The Really Good Podcast in June 2023, per Famous Birthdays. Because both built their names on deadpan, awkward interviews, fans accused her of copying him; Complex reported on March 18, 2024 that she said she had never seen his videos when she started, and thanked him for the interview that took her “to different levels.” Then, Complex reported on July 25, 2024, Marco said in a YouTube video that he ended their tour early because the shows were not working: he called her “a good person” but said she was stiff on stage and needed more stand-up experience.
Why is Funny Marco suing Dezz? Was Funny Marco sued?
We found no report in an accepted outlet or court record of Funny Marco suing anyone named Dezz, as of October 2026. The lawsuit on record runs the other way. TMZ reported on July 11, 2023 that Breakbeat Media and Dave Mays, the founder of The Source magazine, sued Marco claiming he broke their deal by posting to his own YouTube channels instead of Breakbeat’s, refused to read ads, cut side deals with advertisers and bad-mouthed the company. They asked for at least $5 million for Breakbeat and $1 million for Mays. TMZ printed no response from Marco, and we found no reported outcome.

Our read
Ames Create does not work with Funny Marco. This is our view, from a team that works on creator brands for a living.
The format. A famous guest, a host who refuses to play along, and long silences where a normal interviewer would laugh. Open Thoughts works because Marco never breaks: the questions are blunt or absurd, the guest has to decide whether to laugh or get annoyed, and either way there is a clip.
Why it travels. Every episode is cut into short clips built around one awkward moment, and the guest brings their own audience. The NBA YoungBoy interview showed the ceiling: news coverage from trade and TV outlets within days and about 5.6 million views on the full video. The G Herbo episode showed the risk, when the clip that traveled was the guests turning on him.
Brand fit. Sports betting, food delivery and streetwear, where the audience already lives; his Punchup page names PrizePicks and DoorDash as partners. Brands that want a straight, polished read are a poorer fit, since the joke is that nothing about the show is polished. Anyone booking him should know about the 2023 Breakbeat lawsuit and ask where it stands.
