Our read

Ames Create does not work with Ty Schmit. This is our view, from a team that works on creator brands for a living.

The format. He is the producer who became a character. Most days he is a voice at the desk, reacting and asking guests the question nobody else will; on the big days he is in a costume as Fake Lou Holtz or Mel Kiper, playing it straight next to the real stars.

Why it travels. His bits travel inside the show’s reach: Front Office Sports reported in February 2026 that the show averaged 436,000 viewers across TV and digital, its most watched year on ESPN. The pieces that break out, like the Ryan Day apology or the Yamamoto miss, are built for sports media coverage, which then sends people searching his name.

Brand fit. Anything that already fits the McAfee show, plus Packers, Iowa and college football tie-ins that match his own fandom. Any deal would most likely run through the show and ESPN rather than with him alone, so a brand should start there.
