Questions people ask
Who is Marty Mush?
Marty Mush is a Barstool Sports host. His Barstool bio describes him as a Long Island native who roots for the Yankees, the Giants and Duke basketball, who got his start on Barstool Idol, finished as the runner-up and joined full time in 2018. He is on Sports Central and Picks Central, he hosts Marty Versus, and he has appeared in Barstool’s Out of Order sketches. His X bio calls him a “College Basketball insider” who is “Batting over .100 against MLB Pitchers.”
Did Marty Mush leave Barstool? What happened to him?
He did not leave. As of October 13, 2026 his Barstool bio lists Sports Central episodes through that day, Muck Rack shows him credited on Sports Central on October 6, 2026 with Big Ev and Chris Klemmer, and his X bio still reads Barstool Sports. What changed is the format. He arrived as a gambling blogger, and the most recent solo blogs on his bio page are from fall 2025, mostly about the Colts. Since then he has been on camera: daily on Sports Central, in Marty Versus videos, and in August 2026 on Surviving Barstool Season 5, where Barstool billed him as a rookie. We have seen no announcement that he is leaving.
What is Marty Mush doing now?
Sports Central, Monday to Thursday, plus Marty Versus. Recent episodes on his YouTube channel include training as a quarterback with Jon Gruden, a game of HORSE against Kon Knueppel and trying to get a hit off two MLB pitchers. Surviving Barstool Season 5 premiered August 9, 2026 on Rumble Premium and YouTube, per Barstool’s announcement, and crowned its winner on September 8, per the show page. Before it aired he posted that he had “completely forgot what happened in this show” and could not wait “to tune in as a fan.”
Why is Marty Mush a Duke fan?
He has not given a reason we could source, and we have not confirmed where he went to school, so we do not list one. What is public is the fandom. His Barstool bio names Duke basketball alongside his New York teams, he guaranteed in March 2025 that Duke would make the Final Four, and on March 29, 2026 Barstool posted his reaction to a Duke loss with the caption “Duke up 19 with eyes set on the Final Four. Dreams dead just like that.”
Where is Marty Mush from?
Long Island, New York, per his Barstool bio. Barstool’s Surviving Barstool cast card lists him as New York, NY, and he is a Yankees and Giants fan.
What is Marty Mush’s real name? How old is he?
He goes by Marty Mush everywhere, and we have not seen a full legal name published by him or printed by major press, so we do not list one. He has not published a birth date either, so we do not list an age. On the nickname: in his first Barstool blog in August 2018 he wrote that he would soon be “just Marty because I will shake the Mush.” It stuck.
How did Marty Mush get hired at Barstool?
Through Barstool Idol, the company’s on-air talent search, where he finished second, per his Barstool bio. In his first blog, Mush Mondays on August 27, 2018, he wrote that he got in by emailing Barstool Idol from an old AIM screen name, and that he “would have never imagined betting on cricket and selling shoes out of a garbage can would land me a job here.”
What is Marty Versus?
His challenge series. The channel description says Marty “is the best athlete on the Internet so he challenges professional athletes at their sport.” His Barstool bio lists a point against Novak Djokovic and at-bats against MLB pitchers, and recent episodes on YouTube put him against Kon Knueppel in HORSE and under Jon Gruden at quarterback. The same channel holds his older vlogs with Jersey Jerry, Rico Bosco, Glenny Balls and Tommy Smokes.
Where can I watch Marty Mush?
Sports Central and Picks Central on Barstool’s podcast feeds and his Barstool page, Marty Versus on YouTube @Marty_Verse, Surviving Barstool Season 5 on Barstool’s YouTube and Rumble Premium, and daily takes on X @martymush.
What is Marty Mush’s net worth?
He does not publish a number and neither do we.
What about Marty Mush’s family or personal life?
Not something we cover.
Who represents Marty Mush?
He works at Barstool Sports, and his X bio lists a Barstool Sports email for contact; we have not seen a separate agent. Ames Create does not represent him; we cover him because people keep asking whether he is still at Barstool, and the answer is on the record. If that changes, this entry will say so.
Our read
Ames Create does not work with Marty Mush. This is our view, from a team that works on creator brands for a living.
The format. Marty Versus is a simple promise: a regular guy who insists he is the best athlete on the internet steps in against a real pro. The confidence is the setup and the pro is the punchline, so the video works whether he wins a point or gets embarrassed.
Why it travels. Every bold call he makes becomes a receipt. A Final Four guarantee, a Colts take or a .100 batting average is easy to clip and easier to throw back at him, and Barstool’s own running bit about his spelling gives coworkers a reason to keep him in their videos too.
Brand fit. Sports equipment, sports drinks and training gear fit Marty Versus, and sportsbooks fit Picks Central. He works inside Barstool, so a brand is buying Barstool’s tone and goes through Barstool to reach him. For brands that want an athlete-adjacent personality who is happy to lose on camera, that is a clean fit.
