Elton Castee is alive and still posting as of November 2026: TFIL uploaded a new Bangladesh episode on November 1, 2026, and OVERNIGHT posted a Pennhurst investigation with him on October 14, 2026. Most “what happened” searches trace to three stories. Corey Scherer quit OVERNIGHT in 2024 (next question). On July 31, 2025, he and Matt Rife announced in a livestream that they had bought Ed and Lorraine Warren’s former home and museum in Monroe, Connecticut, which NBC Connecticut reported on August 1, 2025, adding that Rife said he would be the legal guardian of the Annabelle doll for at least five years. And since October 2025 he has been in a fight over the Conjuring house in Rhode Island (below). As of October 2026, OVERNIGHT’s video descriptions sell tickets to the Warren Museum in Salem, Massachusetts, and overnight stays at the Warren House.
What happened between Elton Castee and Corey Scherer? Why did Corey quit Overnight?
Corey Scherer quit OVERNIGHT, Elton Castee’s paranormal channel, in 2024, and both men addressed it on their own channels; as of November 2026 we found no public statement that they have made up. The order of events: on April 22, 2024 Corey posted WE NEED TO TALK, described as addressing rumors, and on June 11, 2024 he posted This Isn’t Goodbye..., pointing viewers to his new channel, Corey and Devyn. On July 16, 2024 OVERNIGHT posted the truth about corey quitting, which has about 1 million views; its description calls it “a long overdue explanation of his abrupt departure from the channel,” says it is “only meant to address the Elton-Corey relationship,” and asks viewers not to harass anyone. The two had also co-hosted the Haunted Homies podcast. We found no report on the split in a major news outlet, so we link both sides rather than retell their claims; Corey’s side is in his entry.
What happened between Elton Castee and Sam and Colby? Is Elton Castee still friends with Sam and Colby?
As of November 2026, neither Elton Castee nor Sam and Colby has announced a falling out in anything we could source, and the most recent collab we found is from November 2025. What is public: in the late 2010s he filmed TFIL videos with them, such as OVERNIGHT AT AMUSEMENT PARK! w/ Sam, Colby, Corey & Jake Webber, at about 18.8 million views, and WE ADOPTED A WOLF! w/ Sam, Colby, Corey & Jake, and Sam and Colby posted EXPLORING ABANDONED NEWS STATION (w/ Elton & Corey). We found no report of a dispute in a major news outlet.
Is Elton Castee buying the Conjuring house?
No, as of November 2026 Elton Castee has not bought the Conjuring house in Burrillville, Rhode Island: a company he controls holds its mortgage, Ghost Hunters star Jason Hawes holds a deed, and the dispute is still in court. WPRI reported on August 4, 2025 that he and Matt Rife had sent owner Jacqueline Nuñez a certified offer in July, with Castee saying, “It kind of breaks our heart to see it like this in the current state.” In early October 2025 his company, Summit & Stone LLC, bought the $1.2 million mortgage from Needham Bank, which called off a planned Halloween foreclosure auction, per WPRI and The Boston Globe; he declined to comment to WPRI. Nuñez then agreed to sell to Hawes for $1.3 million, and Hawes recorded the deed in June 2026, per WPRI, July 14, 2026, which reported Castee’s argument that the sale is invalid because Nuñez’s company had been administratively revoked. In June 2026 a Rhode Island Superior Court judge granted a temporary restraining order barring him from trespassing, after a neighbor’s affidavit, while allowing inspections every 30 days with 48 hours’ notice, per WPRI’s June 4, 2026 report as republished by WGN Radio; no response from him was printed. In September 2026 The Boston Globe reported that Judge Melissa E. Darigan called the cases “a mess,” denied Hawes’s request for a payoff statement without prejudice, and said she was “very skeptical” of Summit & Stone’s motivations.

Why it travels. The ghost hunts carry the reach: Warren museum and Annabelle uploads and the Matt Rife episodes run from about 300,000 to over 1 million views, several times a typical TFIL episode. Owning the Warren collection gives the channel locations no rival can book, and the Conjuring house fight keeps his name in local news.
