Questions people ask
Who is Jiedel?
Jiedel is a basketball and challenge YouTuber with about 4 million subscribers on his main channel, which he started in June 2014. He told Tubefilter in July 2021 that he studied journalism at Rutgers, interned on the NFL’s YouTube channels the summer before graduation, and went full time on YouTube in February 2017. He was a founding member of 2HYPE in 2019, and with Jesser and Kris London he co-launched TruCreator, a company that made trading cards of content creators. His own description of the channel: “2 ounces of comedic value, and 4 tablespoons of stupidity.”
What happened to Jiedel? Why did he stop posting?
He has not said, in anything we could source. What is public: as of October 9, 2026, the newest upload on his main channel, a cookie challenge, shows as 11 months old, which puts it around November 2025. His second channel, JDL, where he posts NBA 2K franchise rebuilds, stopped at about the same time. Social Blade shows no new uploads from late September to early October 2026, with the main channel holding at about 4.01 million subscribers. Nothing on his channels says he has retired, so we read it as a pause until he says otherwise.
Is Jiedel still in 2HYPE? What happened with Jiedel and 2HYPE?
Nobody has announced that he left. 2HYPE launched on May 2, 2019, per Famous Birthdays, with Jesser, ZackTTG, Kristopher London, CashNasty, Jiedel and Mopi, the six names Dexerto printed when the group signed with 100 Thieves on November 17, 2020. Famous Birthdays still lists him as a current member, and his YouTube channel still features the other members’ channels. What has changed is the group channel: the newest upload on 2HYPE’s YouTube, which has about 2.57 million subscribers, shows as three years old as of October 2026. Neither Jiedel nor the group has explained the pause on the record that we found.
Why do people say Jiedel ruined 2HYPE? What happened between Jiedel and Los?
We could not find any press report on it, and Jiedel has not addressed it on the record that we found. Los is LosPollosTV, an NBA 2K streamer. The phrase circulates in fan-made clips from his streams. Because no outlet has reported what was said and Jiedel has not responded, we do not repeat it here. If either of them addresses it on the record, this entry will say so.
What happened with Jiedel and Mopi?
Mopi, one of the six founding members, had left 2HYPE by December 2020. Distractify reported on December 14, 2020 that he posted “I didn’t get kicked, I left” and “will be explaining in time.” In what was reported, he did not name Jiedel, and we have not found Jiedel discussing Mopi’s exit on the record. Famous Birthdays now lists Mopi as a former member.
Is Jiedel in the NBA? Was he drafted?
No. Jiedel is a YouTuber, not a professional basketball player, and we found no record of him playing college or pro basketball. The “drafted” searches most likely come from his videos: his JDL channel runs NBA 2K series like fantasy draft rebuilds. His NBA connection on the record is content, from NBA 2K to pitching new jerseys to the Chicago Bulls as a video concept.
How old is Jiedel?
He is 31. Famous Birthdays gives his birthday as July 7, 1995.
What is Jiedel’s real name?
He has not published a full name on his own channels, and major press has not printed one, so we do not list it. Jiedel is the name he has used on YouTube since 2014.
Where can I watch Jiedel?
His main channel is YouTube @Jiedel, with more than 1,400 videos, and his second channel JDL has his NBA 2K series. The group videos are on 2HYPE. He is on Instagram as @jiedel and on X as @jiedel.
What is Jiedel’s net worth?
He does not publish a number and neither do we.
What about Jiedel’s family, or who he is dating?
Not something we cover.
Who represents Jiedel?
No agency or manager is named on his channels; his YouTube About page links his X and Instagram. 2HYPE as a group signed with 100 Thieves in November 2020, per Dexerto. Ames Create does not represent him; we cover him because he helped build one of basketball YouTube’s biggest groups and people keep asking where he went. If that changes, this entry will say so.
Our read
Ames Create does not work with Jiedel. This is our view, from a team that works on creator brands for a living.
The format. Simple rules, a prize and friends who want to win it: guess the NBA player, make the shot, design the best jersey, take home the mystery box. He told Tubefilter he changes his focus every year, so the channel runs from NBA 2K to cooking to gadget tests, and the game-show frame is what holds it together.
Why it travels. The titles are the pitch, a challenge and a stake that a basketball fan understands before clicking. 2HYPE multiplied that: the same friends show up on the group channel and on each other’s channels, so one game reaches several audiences at once, and the group channel alone passed 2.5 million subscribers.
Brand fit. On format, basketball gear, sneakers, jerseys, sports games and snack brands all fit, and his recent uploads were built around exactly those products. In practice it is hard to place anyone on a channel that has been quiet for about 11 months. A brand should wait until he is posting again.
