Matt Kendrick is a golf business executive known for running Good Good as its CEO from 2020 until September 2026. He worked off camera, building the creator group around Garrett Clark into an apparel and events company that raised $45 million in March 2025, and before that he ran the fishing channel Googan Squad, per D Magazine. On September 2, 2026, after the fallout from a Good Good and Callaway driver ad and his own late-night X post blaming Callaway, an internal memo said he had decided to step down, per Front Office Sports. As of November 2026 he has not announced a new role, and board member Nahid Giga is Good Good’s interim CEO. He is not the Mat Kendrick listed as a host of the Claret & Blue Aston Villa podcast.

Questions people ask

Who is Matt Kendrick? Who is Matt Kendrick from Good Good?

Matt Kendrick is the former CEO of Good Good Golf, the golf YouTube group and apparel company from Frisco, Texas, which he ran from 2020 until he stepped down on September 2, 2026. He told GOLF.com in March 2025 that he had approached a group of golf YouTubers, including Garrett Clark, about five years earlier to bring them together. D Magazine reported in April 2024 that he suggested the name (“Maybe we should call it Good Good”), moved the core members to Frisco, added Luke Kwon and Brad Dalke to the cast, and said the company doubled its earnings in 2023 against 2022. When Good Good raised $45 million in March 2025, he declined to give a valuation and said the goal was to build one of the world’s largest golf companies, per GOLF.com. He was never one of the on-camera creators.

What happened to Matt Kendrick? Why did Matt Kendrick leave Good Good and step down?

Matt Kendrick left Good Good on September 2, 2026, when an internal memo told employees he had decided to step down as CEO, effective immediately, per Front Office Sports and Awful Announcing. The memo, from CFO and COO Alex Puchala, said “Matt helped build something extraordinary that exceeded all expectations,” and president Joe Flannery left the same day. Neither the memo nor Kendrick gave a reason on the record; he did not respond to Front Office Sports’ request for comment. What is public is the timing: it came days after Callaway ended its partnership with Good Good over a co-branded driver ad that showed Garrett Clark pushing creator Alexis Miestowski to the ground, and after his own X post blaming Callaway, which is the next question. The full sequence of the ad fallout is on our Good Good page.

What did Matt Kendrick say about Callaway?

Matt Kendrick posted on X early on August 28, 2026, the day after Callaway cut ties with Good Good, that “@CallawayGolf asks us to make an ad then approves it then asks us to take the fall,” then “drops us in a coordinated media blitz and covers it up by giving a million dollars away,” per GOLF.com, which reported on September 3 that the post had about 8.8 million views and was still up. OutKick on Fox News reported that he also replied that he was “not opposed” to suing Callaway, then deleted that reply. He later told Front Office Sports the post was “reactionary” and that he had not seen or approved the ad before it was posted, per GOLF.com. Days earlier, on LinkedIn, he had written that the ad was meant as a parody of a scene from the movie Obsession, that “The execution missed the mark” and “We got this one wrong,” per GOLF.com on August 25.

Was Matt Kendrick fired from Good Good? Why was Matt Kendrick fired?

Matt Kendrick was not described as fired by Good Good: the September 2, 2026 memo said he “decided to step down,” per Awful Announcing, which cited Business Insider’s report of the memo. Golf Digest wrote only that he and Joe Flannery were “no longer with the company,” and CBS News headlined it as a resignation. As of November 2026 we found no report from a major outlet that he was fired, and he has not described his exit in public. The people Good Good did fire over the ad were its VP of brand and marketing and one other employee, per Front Office Sports.

Is Matt Kendrick still with Good Good? What is Matt Kendrick doing now?

No, as of November 2026 Matt Kendrick is not with Good Good, and he has not announced a new job or venture in anything we could source. Board member Nahid Giga, an early investor, became interim CEO on September 2, 2026, and Front Office Sports still described Giga as interim CEO on October 5, 2026, with Alex Puchala running day-to-day operations. Kendrick’s Grass League profile lists him as the owner of the league’s Dallas Horsemen team, rostered through 2026, and still carries the line that he is Good Good’s CEO. If he announces what comes next, this entry will add it.

Is this the Matt Kendrick from the Claret and Blue podcast? Why did he leave Claret and Blue?

No, this entry is about Matt Kendrick, the former CEO of Good Good Golf, not the Aston Villa podcaster. The Claret & Blue podcast from Reach Podcasts lists a host spelled Mat Kendrick on its Apple Podcasts page, while the same page’s About section, as of November 2026, names Dan Rolinson and John Townley as the hosts. We found no statement from the show about his role, and that story is outside this entry.

Does Matt Kendrick play golf?

Yes, Matt Kendrick plays golf: as of November 2026 he plays in the Grass League, which calls itself “the world’s first High Stakes Par 3 Golf league,” per his player profile and the league’s site. The profile, as of November 2026, lists his Grass League debut in 2024, starts in its GL Championship and Grass Clippings Open events through 2026, a best listed finish of 40th at a GL Championship, and his home club as Oak Tree National. It lists no handicap, and we found none published elsewhere.

What did Matt Kendrick do before Good Good?

Matt Kendrick previously oversaw Googan Squad, the fishing channel on YouTube, per D Magazine in April 2024, which also reported that he had held the Good Good company name since his college days. Golf Digest dates his time at Good Good to 2020. We found no sourced account of his earlier jobs beyond that.

If that changes, this entry will say so.

Our read

Ames Create does not work with Matt Kendrick. This is our view, from a team that works on creator brands for a living.

The format. He is an operator, not a creator. His public record is interviews about revenue, funding and expansion, the deals he struck for the cast, and in August 2026 two posts: a LinkedIn apology for the Callaway ad and, days later, an X post blaming Callaway. There is no channel, show or recurring format of his own.

Why it travels. One thing of his traveled: the late-night X post, which GOLF.com put at about 8.8 million views within a week, far more reach than anything else he has posted. Otherwise people find him through Good Good, its departures and the ad fallout, which is why the searches are about whether he left and why.

Brand fit. Not a talent fit for sponsorship. His value to brands has been on the business side, building a creator-led golf apparel company and its retail and media deals. Any brand looking at him now should wait to see what he does next and how he talks about the Good Good exit, which he has not addressed in public.
