Golf YouTuber and Good Good co-founder who makes challenge videos, buddy matches and odd-equipment experiments like square and flat golf balls.
Sports · YouTube · Updated Oct 9, 2026
Stephen Castaneda is a golf creator and one of the three founders still at the center of Good Good, with Garrett Clark and Matt Scharff. He was a soccer kid who did not pick up a club until 17, showed up in Garrett’s early GM Golf videos, and in 2020, when Garrett was ready to quit YouTube, told him to give it two more weeks and started filming with him. His own YouTube channel, about 271,000 subscribers, runs on challenges and matches, including a series against Micah Morris.

How did Stephen Castaneda help start Good Good?
According to D Magazine, Garrett told him he was about to give up on YouTube and get a job. Our read
Ames Create does not work with Stephen Castaneda. This is our view, from a team that works on creator brands for a living.
The format. Stephen is the late starter in a group of very good golfers, and his channel leans into that: silly-equipment challenges (square balls, flat balls, putter grips on every club) and matches against friends. The gear is the joke, the golf is real, and the stakes are whatever the friends agree on.
Why it travels. Every match is also someone else’s video, so the same round reaches Garrett’s, Matt’s and Good Good’s audiences at once. His biggest hits pull in people from outside golf, like the Corinna Kopf and Grace Charis match, which is how a golf channel reaches viewers who do not own clubs.
Brand fit. Golf equipment, novelty gear and golf travel fit the format, and the “Road to 70’s” series is a lesson or training product waiting to happen. As of September 2026 the open question for any partner is Good Good: after the August Callaway ad that featured [Garrett Clark](/who-is-garrett-clark), Callaway ended its partnership with the company, per [CNN](https://www.cnn.com/2026/08/27/sport/good-good-callaway-advertisement).
