The HoneyDew started in 2019 on Tom Segura and Christina P’s YMH Studios network and went independent in mid-2020, though he has kept turning up on Your Mom’s House as a guest. Questions people ask

Who is Ryan Sickler?

Ryan Sickler is a headlining stand-up comedian and podcaster from Maryland who lives in Los Angeles and is a paid regular at The Comedy Store. He told Icon Vs. Icon in 2018 that he first did stand-up at 20 on Water Street in Baltimore and got serious about it at 26 or 27. He has worked behind the camera as a writer and producer, and his club bios list The Joe Rogan Experience, Comedy Central’s This Is Not Happening and Viceland’s Party Legends. Today he hosts two weekly podcasts, The HoneyDew and The Wayback, and releases his specials on his own YouTube channel.

Did Ryan Sickler leave YMH? Why did he leave YMH Studios?

His podcast left the network in 2020; he never left in the sense of a falling out that anyone has put on the record. He was not a Your Mom’s House cast member: the show’s episode notes have him as a guest and occasional fill-in host from 2016. The HoneyDew launched on January 2, 2019, and the Ep. 1 notes say he would be recording it “right here at the Your Mom’s House studio.” In Ep. 67 (April 6, 2020) he announced that from June 1 full episodes would move to his own YouTube channel, with a link staying on the YMH channel. Ep. 75 (June 1, 2020), with Tom Segura, was the first from “the new HoneyDew Studio,” and YMH Ep. 554 (June 3, 2020) talked through the move with him. Neither side has given a reason beyond that, in anything we could source. YMH regulars kept coming on his show after the move, Josh Potter among them (Ep. 80, July 2020), and he has been back on Your Mom’s House many times since, including Ep. 702 (April 2023), Ep. 818 (July 2025), Ep. 834 (October 2025) and Ep. 872 (August 12, 2026), and Segura was the first guest on The Wayback.

What happened to Ryan Sickler? What is he doing now?

As of October 2026 he is doing what he has done for years: stand-up and two weekly podcasts. The HoneyDew is past 400 episodes, with Ep. 407 out on October 12, 2026, and The Wayback is on Ep. 145 (October 8, 2026). His self-produced special Live & Alive went up on YouTube in 2025 and has passed a million views, and his tour page and club calendars list dates including Comedy Works in Denver in December 2026.

Why is Ryan Sickler’s podcast called The HoneyDew?

He explained it before launch, in a December 2018 interview with Icon Vs. Icon. Eating a fruit cup at a diner, he noticed he never ate the honeydew, then saw every other table had left theirs too: “It’s a perfectly fine fruit but we’re all throwing it away.” His next thought was “I’m a honeydew!” The show was built for stories about being overlooked, overworked or embarrassed, told for laughs, which is where the tagline “highlighting the lowlights” comes from. Each week’s guest is introduced as “my HoneyDew this week.”

What was The CrabFeast?

His first long-running podcast, co-hosted with comedian Jay Larson on the All Things Comedy network. Its feed runs from Ep. 1 with Jay Mohr (May 14, 2012) to Ep. 347, “The Final Episode” (December 25, 2018). He said in 2018 that he wanted to keep its storytelling and give it more focus, and The HoneyDew started the following week.

What is Ryan Sickler known for besides podcasts?

Stand-up albums and specials. His bio says his 2018 album Get a Hold of Yourself was the No. 1 stand-up album on Billboard and the No. 1 comedy album on iTunes; the week it came out he told Icon Vs. Icon it had debuted at No. 3 on Billboard behind two soundtracks. He directed and self-produced the 2023 special Lefty’s Son and self-produced Live & Alive in 2025, both free on YouTube. Icon Vs. Icon also lists producing credits on Comedy Central’s The Comedy Jam and E!’s The Funny Dance Show.

If that changes, this entry will say so.

Our read

Ames Create does not work with Ryan Sickler. This is our view, from a team that works on creator brands for a living.

The format. The HoneyDew gives every guest the same assignment: bring the worst moment you have and make it funny. That one rule turns an interview into a story with a built-in arc, and the guest list of working comedians means the stories are already shaped for a room. The Wayback runs the same engine on childhood, which is easier to share and harder to run out of.

Why it travels. Each episode is a self-contained story with a title that sells it, so clips cut cleanly and the full video sits on his own channel. Years of crossover with Your Mom’s House and the comics in that orbit keep sending listeners both ways, and every guest spot there brings new ones back to The HoneyDew.

Brand fit. Podcast-native sponsors already fit the show: the HoneyDew feed has carried host reads for brands like Raycon, Babbel and Liquid I.V. The material is adult and often dark, so family brands are a stretch. He has said his most successful work was done “100% the way I wanted,” so the right partner is one who leaves the format alone.
