Steven Cheah is a Barstool Sports football and betting personality known for The Yak and for Data Day, his yearly game-by-game prediction of the NFL season. He signed with Barstool in August 2016 to run ad operations, got noticed when Dave Portnoy blogged about the All-22 film cut-ups he was posting on Twitter, and moved to content full time in May 2022, per his own Barstool blog. As of November 2026 he is still at Barstool: he appears on The Yak, whose own description lists him among its regulars, and his author page shows blogs through October 27, 2026. He also blogs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a fandom he dates to the 1997 team.

Questions people ask

Who is Steven Cheah?

Steven Cheah is a Barstool Sports personality who covers the NFL, fantasy football and prop betting, best known as a regular on The Yak, Barstool’s weekday comedy show. The Yak’s own description names Kyle “KBNoSwag” Bauer and “his legion of friends; Nick, Brandon Walker, Rone, Lil Sas, Kate, Steven Cheah and Big Cat,” and office regulars such as Mintzy turn up most weeks. His Barstool author bio calls him “Barstool’s VP of Football Operations” and a “Prop Bettor Extraordinaire,” and claims he created fantasy football’s Zero RB strategy in 2009. In his May 2022 blog he listed the shows he had built: producing The Evening Yak on Barstool’s SiriusXM channel with Big Cat and Rone, the En Eff El Draft Show with Rone and Brandon Walker, Fantasy Football Factory with Ben Mintz, and The Dozen and The Bracket with Jeff D. Lowe.

Is Steven Cheah still at Barstool?

Yes, as of November 2026 Steven Cheah is still at Barstool Sports, and we found no report or post saying he has left. The Yak’s podcast listing still names him as a regular, and recent episodes carry his name in the title, including “Steven Cheah Can’t Stop Falling For AI Videos” on October 22, 2026 and “Shocker: Steven Cheah HATED The Elizabeth Holmes Documentary” on October 26, 2026. His author page lists blogs through October 27, 2026, including a Buccaneers post the day before. He has also appeared on Barstool’s FS1 morning show Wake Up Barstool, where host T-Bob Hebert introduced him as its “Junior Football Analyst” in September 2025, per Barrett Media.

Was Steven Cheah fired? What happened to Steven Cheah?

Steven Cheah has not been fired by Barstool Sports, as far as any report or post we could find shows; the searches trace back to three things he and The Yak published. First, on May 7, 2022 he wrote a blog titled “The Rumors Are True: I’m Leaving My Current Job At Barstool,” which meant leaving his job as Senior Director of Ad Operations, a title he had held since 2016, to work on content full time: “It’s a job that I loved, but it is time for a change.” Second, on October 21, 2022 he posted “Dave Portnoy Just Fired Me Over Text”, about Portnoy dropping him as his adviser in a fantasy football league Cheah ran as commissioner. Third, a September 7, 2023 Yak episode was titled “The Best Data Day Ever Leads to Cheah’s Resignation”; its description reads only “Re-sign,” and he posted his Data Day picks again in September 2024.

What happened between Caleb Pressley and Steven Cheah?

Steven Cheah and Caleb Pressley have not described a falling out in anything we could source. What is public: they were Barstool Sports colleagues from August 2016, when Cheah says he signed, until Pressley left in January 2025, and in his May 2022 blog Cheah recalled listening at his desk to Barstool Radio “with Coley or Caleb mixed in on occasion.” On October 10, 2024 The Yak posted an episode titled “Caleb Pressley is Reunited with His Arch Enemy”. We could not open its description to confirm who the title means, so we do not name anyone. Pressley’s own exit from Barstool is covered in his entry.

Why is Steven Cheah a Bucs fan?

Steven Cheah says he became a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan as a kid watching the 1997 team. In a February 1, 2022 blog thanking Tom Brady, he wrote that he had been rooting for the Bucs for 23 years by early 2020, “Since the upstart ’97 Bucs stole my heart with a 5-0 start and a sweet pair of Runningbacks (Warrick Dunn and Mike Alstott),” and called himself “the only Bucs fan as far as the eye could see.” He still blogs the team, including its 0-4 start on October 5, 2026. His author bio says he was voted the No. 1 Buccaneers media personality in 2020, and The Yak once titled an episode “Steven Took Off to Mourn the Bucs” (January 19, 2023).

What is Steven Cheah’s Data Day?

Data Day is Steven Cheah’s yearly Yak episode where he predicts every game of the NFL regular season and announces each team’s record. In 2022 he described it as “a day where I predict every game on the NFL schedule and my document spits out what the records will be,” per Barstool, and he publishes the full picks as a blog the same week. Barstool called the 2022 edition Data Day IV, while The Yak billed the September 9, 2026 episode as the 5th annual Data Day; the counts do not line up, and we report both as published. Paul Skenes stopped by the 2024 edition, per the episode title.

Where is Steven Cheah from?

Steven Cheah has not named his hometown in anything we could source, so we do not list one. What he has said: in a December 2025 blog he wrote that Bucs coach Todd Bowles is “from two towns over from where I grew up.”

How old is Steven Cheah? What is his real name?

Steven Cheah has not published a birthdate, so we do not list an age. Steven Cheah is his real name as far as anything public shows: it is the name on his Barstool author page and his blogs. He did publish his height: in an October 2022 blog he wrote that he is 6 feet 3 inches tall.

Is Steven Cheah married?

Yes, Steven Cheah is married, by his own account. In his May 7, 2022 blog about moving to content full time he thanked “my wife for just putting up with what has just been my whacky side gig for the past few years.” He did not name her there, and we do not.

Where can I watch Steven Cheah?

Steven Cheah is on The Yak most weekdays, live at 1 p.m. ET on the Barstool Yak YouTube channel and as a podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. His blogs, including Bucs recaps and Data Day picks, are on his Barstool author page. He posts as @stevencheah on X and Instagram, and his betting picks go out on @TrustTheData.

What is Steven Cheah’s net worth?

Steven Cheah does not publish a number and neither do we.

Is Steven Cheah Asian? Does he have kids? Who is his wife?

Not something we cover.

Who represents Steven Cheah?

As of November 2026, no agent or manager is named publicly for Steven Cheah; he works for Barstool Sports, and his author page and social bios list no representation that we could find. Ames Create does not represent him; we cover him because people keep asking whether he is still at Barstool and whether he was fired, and the answers are in his own posts. If that changes, this entry will say so.

Our read

Ames Create does not work with Steven Cheah. This is our view, from a team that works on creator brands for a living.

The format. He is the numbers guy in a room that would rather do bits, and the room uses that. The Yak hands him a straight role, the data, the predictions, the strong opinions on movies, and then lets the panel pick it apart. Data Day is the purest version: an hour of game-by-game NFL picks while everyone else tries to derail it.

Why it travels. Recent Yak episodes with his name in the title mostly draw 100,000 to 180,000 views on the Barstool Yak channel, and the most viewed one we found is a June 2022 Case Race titled “Tensions Flare Between Shane Gillis and Steven Cheah,” at about 1.2 million views. His Bucs posts and betting picks give him a second, smaller audience that follows him for football rather than for the show.

Brand fit. Betting, fantasy football, NFL apparel and anything with a data or prediction angle sit naturally with him. As a Barstool employee, any deal would run through Barstool rather than through him alone.
