Questions people ask

Who is Jeff D. Lowe?

Jeff D. Lowe is a Barstool Sports host. He created The Dozen, the trivia competition Barstool personalities play against each other, and has hosted it since at least January 2021, when White Sox Dave wrote a blog retracting a protest of one of his questions. He also co-hosts Project Big Screen, the movie podcast once called Lights, Camera, Barstool, and is one of the regulars on the Survivor podcast Snuffing Torches with Tommy Smokes.

Is Jeff D. Lowe still at Barstool? Did he leave?

He is still there. As of October 2026 his Barstool bio is live and lists him as co-host of Project Big Screen and host of The Dozen Trivia League, and the show’s podcast feed lists him in the notes of every episode from June 23, 2026 through the latest, released October 14, 2026. We found no report in major or trade press, and no statement from him, about him leaving the company.

What does Jeff D. Lowe do at Barstool?

Three things, mostly. He hosts The Dozen, which he created; on a May 2022 episode of Work with Erika Ayers Badan, the episode notes describe him as its creator and host. The format now runs as The Dozen Trivia League, with team matches posted to YouTube, a daily online game and a board game made with Buffalo Games. He co-hosts Project Big Screen, a weekly show of reviews, Top 10 lists and filmmaker interviews. And he writes movie blogs for Barstool, including yearly rankings such as The 50 Best Movies of 2024 and a mid-2025 best and worst list. His Barstool page also carries The Geniuses: Sports Edition, a 2024 sports trivia series.

What happened between Jeff D. Lowe and Kirk Minihane?

On the record, it is a working relationship with a long-running trivia rivalry, not a falling out. Kirk Minihane is listed as a Project Big Screen co-host, and the show’s feed description still names both as hosts as of October 2026. Kirk also plays The Dozen with his own team, Team Minihane, and most of the public drama between them is about the rules. In June 2023 The Kirk Minihane Show broadcast from Barstool Chicago with Jeff as a guest before a Dozen final. On September 26, 2023 a Barstool Radio episode was titled “Kirk Minihane Retires from The Dozen Over Jeff D Lowe’s Last Minute Rule Change,” with a note that he unretired within the hour. In June 2025 Dave Portnoy’s Unnamed Show ran a segment called “The Show Revolts Over The Dozen Schedule”, with Jeff explaining the event’s long timeline. Neither man has described a personal dispute in anything we could source. One more thing that is public: Kirk has not been named in Project Big Screen’s episode notes since June 9, 2026, and in October 2026 Kirk told his own listeners he plans to return to his show full time in January, as Awful Announcing reported.

Does Jeff D. Lowe have an Emmy? Why does he have an Emmy?

His Barstool bio calls him a “Two-time Emmy Award Winner,” and the bio on his public profile, as collected by Muck Rack, says “2x Emmy Winner” and tags Good Morning America (@GMA) among his past work. Neither says which Emmys, which years or for what. We could not match the awards to a published Emmy list, so we do not guess the category. If he has said on the record what they were for, we have not found it yet.

Is Jeff D. Lowe the Jeff Lowe from Tiger King?

No. This entry is about Jeff D. Lowe of Barstool Sports, the trivia host and movie podcaster. He is not Jeff Lowe, the zoo operator featured in Netflix’s 2020 series Tiger King.

How old is Jeff D. Lowe?

He has not published a birthdate that we could find, so we do not list an age.

What is Jeff D. Lowe’s real name? What does the D stand for?

He works as Jeff D. Lowe everywhere, and no other name has been published by him or by major press. The May 2022 Work with Erika Ayers Badan episode promised to reveal what the D stands for; the answer is in the audio, not the episode notes, so we have not confirmed it.

Where does Jeff D. Lowe live?

His Letterboxd profile lists Austin, Texas, and Project Big Screen recorded its September 2026 Resident Evil interview live from Fantastic Fest in Austin. We do not publish anything more specific than the city.

Where can I watch Jeff D. Lowe?

Project Big Screen is on YouTube and Apple Podcasts every week. The Dozen matches are on YouTube, and Snuffing Torches recaps every Survivor episode on its feed. His movie rankings live on Letterboxd, where he has logged more than 7,000 films, and on his Barstool page. He posts on X as @JeffDLowe and on Instagram as @jeffdlowe.

What is Jeff D. Lowe’s net worth?

He does not publish a number and neither do we.

What about Jeff D. Lowe’s height, family or personal life?

Not something we cover.

Who represents Jeff D. Lowe?

He works for Barstool Sports, and no agency or manager is named on his Barstool bio or the profiles we could read. Ames Create does not represent him; we cover him because people keep asking whether he is still at Barstool, what his Emmys were for and what is going on with Kirk Minihane, and most of the answer is on the record. If that changes, this entry will say so.

Our read

Ames Create does not work with Jeff D. Lowe. This is our view, from a team that works on creator brands for a living.

The format. Two formats with built-in stakes. The Dozen turns Barstool’s cast into trivia teams with records, rivalries and a host who makes the rulings, so every match has a winner and usually a protest. Project Big Screen is a panel of people who watch everything arguing over rankings, which gives each episode a list to fight about.

Why it travels. The arguments travel further than the answers: a disputed question or a rule change becomes a segment on other Barstool shows, which is how a trivia ruling ends up in a Barstool Radio episode title. Ranked lists do the same work for the movie show, since everyone has a number one they want to defend.

Brand fit. Deals run through Barstool. The clean fits are studios, streamers and theater chains on the movie side, and games, bars and anything trivia-adjacent on The Dozen side, which already has its own board game. The surrounding Barstool shows carry sportsbook ads, so a family brand should know the neighborhood.
