Theo Baker (Sidemen)

What happened to Theo Baker in the Sidemen charity match? What happened to his hip?

Theo Baker was injured during the Sidemen Charity Match on September 9, 2023, and two days later posted “I Got INJURED at The Sidemen Charity Match!”, which has about 1.9 million views. That match was played at London Stadium, where the Sidemen beat the YouTube Allstars 8 to 5 and raised £2.4 million, per Tubefilter. His channel followed with clips titled “Speed & Rio Ferdinand React to Theo Baker’s Injury” (September 12, 2023), “Aaron Ramsdale BREAKS Theo Baker’s Hip” (September 19, 2023) and “Theo Baker Reacts To His Sidemen Charity Match Injury” (September 21, 2023). By December 9, 2023 he was back kicking a ball, in a Short titled “Theo Baker’s First Penalty After His Injury”, and he played in the next Sidemen match in March 2025. We found no accepted news outlet that reported the medical details, so we do not add any.

Why did Theo Baker have hip surgery?

Theo Baker has not explained a hip surgery in any video description or report from an accepted outlet that we could find, so as of November 2026 we cannot say what it was for. What is public: his channel posted “I NEED SURGERY...” on November 17, 2020 and “Running a Marathon 6 Months After Surgery” on May 6, 2023, and neither description names the operation. Four months after the marathon video he was hurt in the September 2023 Sidemen match, covered in the question above. Since then he has finished an Ironman 70.3 in Weymouth in 5 hours 48 minutes, per his November 28, 2024 video, and a full Ironman in Sweden, in “The Day I Became An IRONMAN” (September 15, 2025).

Why is Theo Baker not in the Sidemen charity match? Why did he not play?

Theo Baker was not in either squad for the Sidemen Charity Match at Wembley on April 18, 2026, per the line-ups published by ESPN and Sports Illustrated, and as of November 2026 he has not said why in anything we could source. The YouTube Allstars that year were managed by Calfreezy. He had played in the three matches before it, by the titles of his own videos: September 2022, September 2023, when he was injured, and March 2025 at Wembley, which his video title calls a hat trick “in front of 90,000.” We found no statement from him or the Sidemen about the 2026 squad, so we do not guess at a reason.

What happened to Theo Baker’s hair? Why did his hair transplant fail?

Theo Baker had a hair transplant in late 2019 and documented it himself, and as of November 2026 he has not said that it failed, in anything we could source. He announced it in “I’m Getting a Hair Transplant...” on October 4, 2019, posted “I Had a Hair Transplant! (FUE HAIR TRANSPLANT)” on December 20, 2019, crediting International Hair Studio, and followed with “My 6 Month Hair Transplant Results! BEFORE & AFTER” on June 20, 2020. Since then his hairline has become a running joke in his own Shorts, including “Miniminter Calls Theo Baker Bald” (October 2, 2024) and “MrBeast Offers To Pay For Theo’s Hair Transplant” (March 9, 2025).
