Questions people ask
Who is Andrew Schulz?
Andrew Schulz is a stand-up comedian, actor and podcaster from New York City, best known as the host of Flagrant. He built his audience by putting specials straight on YouTube, and in one case bought back his special Infamous from a major streamer after rejecting its creative notes, then released it himself, per Deadline in February 2025. Netflix released his hour Life on March 4, 2025, and he plays Dan Hibiki in the Street Fighter movie that opened on October 16, 2026. Before Flagrant he was on MTV2’s Guy Code and co-hosted The Brilliant Idiots with Charlamagne tha God, per Famous Birthdays.
Is Andrew Schulz still on Flagrant? Why is he not on Flagrant?
Yes, as of October 2026 he is still the host. Flagrant’s podcast feed describes the show as Andrew Schulz, AlexxMedia and Mark Gagnon, and he is on the latest episodes, including October 8, 2026 with Street Fighter co-star Cody Rhodes and October 14, 2026 with 50 Cent. The stretch people noticed him missing was September 2025: the notes for the September 18, 2025 episode say Akaash, Alexx and Mark opened the show, and the October 1, 2025 episode was titled “Schulz is Back.” The notes do not give a reason. The timing lines up with the Street Fighter shoot in Sydney, which Ausfilm said on October 8, 2025 was underway and due to wrap that month, and he told Street Fighter stories on the October 15, 2025 episode.
What happened between Andrew Schulz and Akaash Singh?
On the record, a long partnership that ended with Akaash leaving the podcast in May 2026. The episode released May 6, 2026 (#703) opens with a segment the show’s notes call “We address it + Our fav memories,” and the feed has not listed Akaash as a host since. A few weeks earlier the show was still promoting his sold-out Radio City Music Hall date in its April 2026 episode notes. The reason given on air, that Akaash chose to put his energy into stand-up, is covered in our Akaash Singh entry. We found no reported falling out between them in major or trade press.
Why is Andrew Schulz in Street Fighter? Why is he Dan Hibiki?
Legendary cast him in its live-action Street Fighter, and sources told Deadline on June 26, 2025 that he would play Dan Hibiki. Deadline described Hibiki, who first appeared in Street Fighter Alpha in 1995, as an overconfident, arrogant and utterly feeble fighter, and called the part a fit for a comedian. Kitao Sakurai of Bad Trip directed, and Paramount opened the film in theaters on October 16, 2026, per /Film. Schulz talked about landing the role on the July 1, 2025 Flagrant episode, and co-stars Cody Rhodes and 50 Cent came on the show in October 2026 to promote it.
Why is Andrew Schulz in Australia? Why was he in Sydney?
Mostly for Street Fighter. The film shot on location across Sydney and at Disney Studios Australia in Moore Park in 2025, per Ausfilm, and Flagrant’s October 15, 2025 episode notes mention Street Fighter stories from the set and 50 Cent in Australia. He has also toured there: his Life Tour played Just For Laughs Sydney on November 17 and 18, 2023, per the City of Sydney, and Deadline listed Australia among the tour’s stops.
What happened to Andrew Schulz in Calgary? On QR Calgary?
We found no report in major or trade press of an incident involving him in Calgary or on QR Calgary, as of October 2026. What is public: he was announced as a headliner of the Great Outdoors Comedy Festival at Prince’s Island Park in Calgary in August 2023, per Curiocity. If a sourced account appears, this entry will add it.
Why did Andrew Schulz get cancelled? What are his controversies?
He has not lost a network, film or streaming deal in anything we could source: since 2025 he has released a Netflix special, been cast in Street Fighter and joined Amazon MGM’s Clashing Through the Snow, per The Hollywood Reporter in March 2026. He has drawn criticism several times. In December 2020 Paste criticized jokes blaming China for the pandemic in his Netflix special Schulz Saves America. In December 2024 he answered a Kendrick Lamar lyric many fans read as aimed at him with a joke on Flagrant that drew criticism as racist; on The Breakfast Club in March 2025 he said the joke was about Lamar’s height, not race, and that he has a lot of respect for Lamar’s work, per Billboard, which notes Lamar never confirmed who the line was about. In fall 2025 he was on the lineup of the Saudi-funded Riyadh Comedy Festival, which drew criticism over the country’s human rights record, per Chortle.
What movies and TV shows has Andrew Schulz been in? Why is he in Tires?
On film: You People, the White Men Can’t Jump remake, The Underdoggs and the Western The Thicket, per Deadline, then Street Fighter (2026) and Clashing Through the Snow, where he plays a janitor named Walter, per The Hollywood Reporter. On TV: MTV2’s Guy Code and IFC’s Benders, per Famous Birthdays, and Netflix’s Tires, the Shane Gillis comedy. He has not said how the Tires part came about in anything we could source; Deadline noted in June 2025 that he appears in its latest season, and Gillis came on Flagrant on June 4, 2025 to talk about Tires 2. His specials include Schulz Saves America (Netflix, 2020), the self-released Infamous and Life (Netflix, March 2025).
How old is Andrew Schulz? What is his real name?
He is 42, born October 30, 1983 in New York City, per Famous Birthdays. He performs under his own name, Andrew Schulz.

If that changes, this entry will say so.
Our read
Ames Create does not work with Andrew Schulz. This is our view, from a team that works on creator brands for a living.
The format. Two engines that feed each other: a weekly Flagrant hang that mixes news riffs with long guest sit-downs, and stand-up he likes to own end to end, from YouTube hours to buying back a special and releasing it himself. The podcast keeps him in the conversation every week; the specials turn that attention into tickets.
Why it travels. Big guests bring their own audiences to Flagrant, from MrBallen to 50 Cent, and every episode cuts into clips. He also answers critics on air, which keeps his name moving between fan bases that would not otherwise meet. A free hour on YouTube does the marketing for the next tour.
Brand fit. Prediction markets and men’s lifestyle brands already sponsor the show; the May 2026 episode page lists Kalshi and Sesh. Studios keep casting him, so film and game marketing is a natural lane. His comedy is built to offend part of the room and controversies have followed, so a cautious family brand is a poor fit.
