Find your best performing Reels, and why they worked
What already works on your Instagram, in plain words, and what to do with it. This is what comes back when you type your handle.
01
Your normal, and what beat it
The median views of your recent Reels, and every one that at least doubled it, with how many times over.
02
Your outliers, side by side
The Reels that broke out, ranked by how far they beat your normal, with the ones that fell under it for contrast.
03
The pattern behind your hits
What your winners share that the rest do not: the first words, the format, the topic, the length.
04
Hooks built from your own Reels
Five openers in the shape of your hits, with blanks for your next idea, and three things to test. Yours, not a template.
How it works

The way it appears on your profile. Public accounts only.
We read your Reels
Your recent Reels: captions, views, length and dates.
You get the audit
Your normal, your outliers, what they share, and what to try next.
Built by our team
What makes it worth using
It measures you against you
A hit is a Reel that beat your own normal, not a benchmark for your follower tier. That is why it works at 300 views a Reel or 3 million.
No score, and no follower check
We do not grade your account out of 100 or count your bots. You get what worked, in plain words, and what to test next.
No login, no connection
It never asks for your Instagram password or to connect your account. A few audits a day each keeps it free for everyone.
Honest about what it can see
It reads your Reels, their captions and their numbers. It has not watched them and it does not read photo posts or Stories, and it says so.
How to audit your Instagram Reels
You can do this by hand from your own profile. It is the same method the tool uses.
Open your Reels tab and write down the views on your last 12 Reels. Skip any you have pinned, because they are old hits you chose to keep at the top. Skip anything under 48 hours old, because its views are still climbing.
Find the median, not the average. Line the numbers up from lowest to highest and take the one in the middle. That is your normal. One Reel that took off will pull an average far above what you usually get.
Mark every Reel at 2x your normal or more. Those are your outliers: your best performing Reels measured against you, not against anyone else.
Write down what the outliers share. The first words of the caption, the format or series, the topic, the length. Then look at your lowest Reels and ask whether they share the opposite.
Or type your handle at the top of this page. The audit does all four steps from your public numbers, then writes up the pattern and gives you hooks built from your own hits.
What an Instagram audit reads, and why only Reels
Your most recent public Reels, usually about 20. For each one: the caption, the view count, the length and the date it went up. Nothing else, and nothing private.
It reads Reels only. The audit is built on views, and a Reel has a view count the tool can read. Photo posts, carousels and Stories are left out, and we would rather say so than fold them in with a number that means something different.
Your normal is the median views of the last 12 Reels, with pinned ones and anything under 48 hours old left out. A hit is any Reel at 2x your normal or more. A miss is one at 0.5x or under. The audit shows both, because the contrast is where the pattern is.
Instagram Insights and this audit: use both
They answer different questions, and the two together are better than either alone.
Your Insights show things only you can see. For each Reel, Instagram lists Views, Viewers, Interactions and Accounts engaged: how many times it was played, how many accounts saw it and who they are, and the likes, comments, saves and shares it earned.
This audit shows what Insights does not put in one place: your Reels lined up against your own normal, and what the ones that broke out have in common, in words.
A good way to use both: run the audit, take the hits it finds, then open each one in your Insights. That tells you who watched and what they did next, which captions and view counts cannot.
Why are my Reels not getting views?
Start by asking whether they are low for you. An ordinary Reel can feel like a failure right after one that took off, and it may be exactly your normal. The audit puts a number on that, so you are comparing a Reel with what you usually get and not with your best day.
If your recent Reels really are under your normal, look at the misses next to the hits. Sometimes the difference is visible in the caption: the hits make a promise in the first words, and the misses only name an activity.
What the audit cannot do is see inside Instagram. It cannot tell you about reach limits or account status, and we would rather say that than guess.
What this Instagram audit does not check
Many tools called an Instagram audit check followers and give a score. This one answers a different question, and it is worth being plain about what it leaves out.
- Fake followers. This is not a follower audit. It does not score your followers or look for bots. Those tools are built for brands vetting a creator.
- Engagement rate. The audit is built on views. It does not grade your likes, comments, saves or shares.
- Photo posts, carousels and Stories. It reads Reels only, because views are what the audit is built on.
- Whether you are shadowbanned. The audit sees what a visitor to your profile sees, so it cannot tell you about restrictions or account status.
- Who watched. Viewers, their countries and ages live in your own Insights, behind your login. We never ask for it.
- The Reels themselves. It has not watched them or heard the audio. It reads the caption you posted and the numbers the Reel earned.
On TikTok or YouTube too? The full Page Audit reads TikTok, YouTube videos and Shorts the same way. And when a brand asks what you charge, the Instagram Sponsorship Rate Calculator prices a sponsored Reel from the same normal.
Questions people ask
How do I audit my Instagram account for free?
Type your handle at the top of this page. The audit reads your recent public Reels, works out your normal from the last 12, and shows which ones beat it and what they share. No login and no account. To do it by hand: list the views on your last 12 Reels, find the median, and mark everything at 2x or more.
What is an Instagram audit?
It means two different things. For a brand, an Instagram audit usually checks whether a creator’s followers are real. For a creator, it is a look at what your own content is doing. This is the second kind: it reads your Reels, finds the ones that beat your normal and tells you what they have in common. It does not check followers.
Is this a Reel analyzer or Reels analytics tool?
Yes, of one specific kind. It analyzes what your Reels did against your own normal and what the outliers share. It works from public view counts, so it does not replace the Insights in your app, which show things only you can see.
How do I find my best performing Reels on Instagram?
Sorting by views shows your biggest Reels. Best performing is a different question: which Reels beat what you usually get. The audit ranks your recent Reels by how many times over your normal they went, so a 2x on a small account counts the same as on a large one.
How many views is good for a Reel?
There is no number that is good for everyone. A good Reel is one that beats your own normal. The audit gives you that normal, the median of your last 12 Reels, and counts anything at 2x or more as a hit. We use the median and not the average, because one viral Reel does not move it much.
Why are my Reels not getting views anymore?
First check whether they are low for you. If your recent Reels sit near your normal, nothing has changed. If several are at 0.5x your normal or under, the audit lists them next to your hits so you can see what is different: the opening words, the format, the topic, the length. It cannot see reasons that live inside Instagram.
Why do some of my Reels get more views than others?
Usually the answer is in your own Reels. When you line the hits up next to the rest, they tend to share something: a format, a way of opening, a topic, a length. The audit puts them side by side and names what it can see. Sometimes the hits share nothing visible in the captions and numbers, and it says that too.
Can I audit someone else’s Instagram account?
It reads public Reels, so it will run on any public account. It is built for your own page, though. The hooks and the things to test are written for the person who makes the Reels, and it is not a way to vet a creator or check their followers.
Do I need to log in or connect my Instagram?
No. There is nothing to connect and we never ask for a password. It reads what is already public on your profile, so it does not work on private accounts.
How many Reels does it read?
Your most recent public Reels, usually about 20. Your normal comes from the last 12 of them, leaving out pinned Reels and anything under 48 hours old.
Why is the view count different from my Insights?
The audit reads the view count shown publicly on your Reels. Your Insights are private to you and can count things differently, so the two numbers may not match. The audit compares your Reels with each other using the same public number for all of them, which is what matters for finding the outliers.
Do you watch my Reels?
No. The read is built from your captions, your view counts, the length of each Reel and when it went up. It cannot see what happens on screen or hear the audio, and it says so in the result. Captions are often short, so it also leans on length, timing and repeated formats.
Is the Instagram audit free?
Yes, with no account and no email. Each person gets a few audits a day, which keeps it free for everyone. If you want to know what your normal is worth to a brand, the Instagram Sponsorship Rate Calculator works that out from the same numbers.
