Questions people ask

Who is Shuli Egar?

Shuli Egar is a stand-up comedian best known for about 15 years on The Howard Stern Show. He started stand-up in Las Vegas, became a regular Stern caller, and joined the Howard 100 News team on Sirius, where OC Weekly found him in 2009 covering news and hosting a Sunday show of his own. He later became the staffer who covered the Wack Pack. Since leaving the show in 2021 he has run his own podcasts, now under the name The Shuli Network.

Is Shuli still on The Howard Stern Show? Why did he leave?

No. He resigned in January 2021. On his first podcast episode he said, as reported by Distractify, that after his move to Alabama he was offered a part-time role, was told he could podcast on the side only with restrictions, and concluded he would not be able to speak freely about his years on the show.

What happened to Shuli on Howard Stern?

Nothing dramatic on air, by his account. He moved from New York to Huntsville, Alabama in 2020, during the pandemic, and has said SiriusXM management signed off on the move ahead of time and passed it on to Howard. A few months later he resigned. He told Fox News in March 2021 that Stern was “super supportive” and thanked him for 15 years, called Stern “my Johnny Carson,” and said, “I got to live a dream for 15 years.”

What happened to Shuli Egar?

In order: he left the Stern show in January 2021, launched The Shuli Show on Patreon, and by March 2021 had signed with Hurrdat Media to distribute it, per Fox News. He kept doing stand-up from Huntsville, where he told Fox he works with touring comics at a local club. The podcast became The Shuli Network, built around The Uncle Rico Show, and in August 2025 John Melendez sued him over that show.

Is there a Shuli Egar lawsuit?

Yes. In August 2025 “Stuttering” John Melendez, the former Stern Show and Tonight Show personality, sued Egar and a fellow comedian and podcaster in Manhattan Supreme Court, as reported by the New York Post and Inside Radio. The complaint, dated August 7, 2025, alleges they used secretly recorded private phone calls of Melendez on their podcast and at live events, used his name and likeness without consent, and took items from his discarded furniture in Los Angeles to display at a fan event in Rochester. Egar denied the claims and told the Post the suit was “a sad attempt from a sad man to make money.” We could not find a reported ruling as of October 2026.

Where is Shuli Egar now? What is he doing now?

Podcasting, mostly. The Shuli Network feed lists new episodes of The Uncle Rico Show twice a week, most recently on October 9, 2026. The show describes itself as a live roast of John Melendez, with Egar and his co-hosts reacting in real time to packages of Melendez clips. The last place he has said he lives, as of 2021 press, is Huntsville, Alabama.

How old is Shuli Egar?

He has not published a birthdate that we could source, so we do not list an age.

What is Shuli Egar’s real name?

Shuli Egar is the name he works under and the name printed by Fox News and the New York Post. He has not published any other name, and on the Stern show he was usually just Shuli.

Where is Shuli Egar from?

He was born in Israel and raised in Los Angeles, per OC Weekly. After high school he lived in Arizona and then spent about 12 years in Las Vegas, where he started stand-up. He worked in New York during his Stern years and moved to Huntsville, Alabama in 2020.

What is Shuli Egar’s net worth?

He does not publish a number and neither do we.

What about Shuli Egar’s family or personal life?

Not something we cover.

Who represents Shuli Egar?

We could not find a published agent or manager. His network’s YouTube page links to its Patreon and to the hosts’ social accounts. Ames Create does not represent him; we cover him because people keep asking why he left the Stern show, and he has answered that on the record. If that changes, this entry will say so.

Our read

Ames Create does not work with Shuli Egar. This is our view, from a team that works on creator brands for a living.

The format. Fifteen years on the Stern show trained him in one thing: building a bit around a recurring cast of real people. The Uncle Rico Show runs that playbook on a single target, with hosts reacting live to clip packages, so every episode has a built-in structure and a running storyline.

Why it travels. It travels inside the Stern alumni and radio-roast world, where the same names cross between shows and guests from that scene drop in. Episode titles are written as cliffhangers about the regulars, which is what keeps a twice-weekly live show in the feed and clips moving among fans who already know the cast.

Brand fit. Honestly, nobody right now outside the podcast-native advertisers already buying in this corner of comedy. The flagship show is a roast of one real person who sued over it in August 2025, and a mainstream brand will want that resolved before it signs on. Comedy clubs and live dates remain the natural fit for him as a stand-up.
