What does it take to get paid?
On TikTok, 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in 30 days. On YouTube, 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 watch hours or 10M Shorts views, doubling for new channels on February 1, 2027. Instagram does not pay per view at all. Here is every program’s bar, from the platforms’ own pages. The checker above reads your account against all of them.
| Platform | Program | The bar | What it pays |
|---|---|---|---|
| TikTok | Creator Rewards Program | 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the last 30 days, age 18 or older, original videos over 1 minute | About $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views (published averages) |
| YouTube | Partner Program (ad revenue) | 1,000 subscribers, plus 4,000 watch hours in 12 months or 10M Shorts views in 90 days | 55% of ad revenue on long videos, about $1 to $4 per 1,000 views |
| YouTube | Partner Program from February 1, 2027 | 1,000 subscribers, plus 8,000 watch hours in 12 months or 20M Shorts views in 90 days, for channels not in it yet | The same program |
| YouTube | Fan funding tier | 500 subscribers, 3 uploads in 90 days, plus 3,000 watch hours or 3M Shorts views | Memberships, Super Thanks and Shopping, no ad revenue |
| Gifts | 500 followers, age 18 or older | Fans send Stars on Reels, $0.01 a Star | |
| Subscriptions | 10,000 followers, a professional account, age 18 or older | Monthly payments from subscribers | |
| Bonuses | By invitation only | The only money Instagram pays directly |

TikTok Creator Rewards requirements
The bar, and the rule that catches most creators.
The account needs 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days, and you need to be 18 or older and live where the program is open. Then only original videos over 1 minute earn, and only on the views TikTok counts as qualified. TikTok does not publish a rate per view; published averages put it at about $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views.
The views bar is a rolling 30 days, so it is a pace to keep, not a line you cross once. The checker counts the views on what you posted in the last 30 days and, when it cannot see that far back, shows your recent pace as well.
YouTube Partner Program requirements, and the 2027 change
Two tiers today, and a higher bar for new channels from February.
Ad revenue needs 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months or 10M Shorts views in the last 90 days. The fan funding tier opens earlier, at 500 subscribers with 3 uploads in 90 days and 3,000 watch hours or 3M Shorts views, and pays through memberships, Super Thanks and Shopping.
From February 1, 2027, channels joining need 8,000 watch hours or 20M Shorts views, double today’s bar. YouTube says channels already in the program are not affected, and members accept updated terms in YouTube Studio by January 31, 2027. For a YouTube channel the checker shows both bars side by side, with the days left.
YouTube also asks for no active Community Guidelines strikes, 2-Step Verification, advanced features, a linked AdSense account, and that you live where the program is available (YouTube Help).
Instagram monetization requirements
Instagram pays differently: fans and brands, not views.
Instagram has no open program that pays per view. Gifts open at 500 followers, and fans buy Stars to send on your Reels, at $0.01 a Star to you. Subscriptions open at 10,000 followers on a professional account. Bonuses are by invitation only, and a real invitation never asks for your password.
Most of what Instagram creators earn comes from brands, which pay on your Reel views at any size. The Instagram rate calculator prices a sponsored Reel from your handle.
What it cannot see
Some of every bar is not public. Here is what, and what the checker does instead.
- Watch hours. YouTube does not show them publicly. The checker reads the Shorts path and tells you to check watch hours in YouTube Studio, under Earn.
- Your age, your country and strikes. They are part of every program’s bar and none of them are public, so they sit in a list only you can check.
- Whether you are already in. Programs do not show members publicly. The checker shows where the public bar is and where your public numbers sit against it.
- Views on older posts. A window counts every view in it, including views on old posts. We count views on the posts you published in the window, so your real number is higher than ours, never lower.
What it could all add up to in a month is a separate question. The Earnings Calculator works it out from your numbers.
Questions people ask
Am I eligible for the TikTok Creator Rewards Program?
If you have 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days, are 18 or older and live where it is open, you clear the public bar. Type your TikTok handle at the top of this page and the checker reads your followers and your last 30 days for you.
How many followers do you need to get paid on TikTok?
10,000 for Creator Rewards, plus 100,000 views in the last 30 days. Brands pay well before that, on your views. The Rate Calculator shows what to charge.
Why do my TikToks need to be over a minute?
Creator Rewards only pays on original videos over 1 minute. The checker counts how many of your TikToks from the last 30 days run that long, because a short video can be great for growth and still earn nothing from the program.
How much does TikTok pay per 1,000 views?
TikTok does not publish a rate. Published averages put Creator Rewards at about $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views, and only on videos over a minute. The Earnings Calculator works out a month from your numbers.
Is there a YouTube monetization checker?
This is one. Pick YouTube above and type your channel handle. It reads your subscribers, your Shorts views in the last 90 days and your uploads, and checks them against the Partner Program and its fan funding tier. Watch hours are not public, so it tells you where to check them.
What are the YouTube Partner Program requirements?
For ad revenue: 1,000 subscribers, plus 4,000 watch hours in the last 12 months or 10M Shorts views in the last 90 days. YouTube also asks for no active Community Guidelines strikes, 2-Step Verification, advanced features and a linked AdSense account, and for you to live where the program is available.
What changes for YouTube monetization in 2027?
From February 1, 2027, channels joining the Partner Program need 8,000 watch hours in the last 365 days or 20M Shorts views in the last 90 days, plus 1,000 subscribers. YouTube says channels already in are not affected. The fan funding tier does not change.
Can I make money on YouTube with fewer than 1,000 subscribers?
Yes. The fan funding tier opens at 500 subscribers with 3 uploads in 90 days, plus 3,000 watch hours or 3M Shorts views. It pays through memberships, Super Thanks and Shopping, not ads. Sponsors pay at any size.
Does Instagram pay you for views?
No. Instagram has no open program that pays per view. Gifts open at 500 followers, Subscriptions at 10,000, and bonuses are by invitation only. Most Instagram creators earn from brands, which the checker prices from your Reel views.
How accurate is it?
Followers and subscribers are exact. Views in a window are a floor: we count the views on posts you published in that window, and older posts keep earning views too, so your real number is higher. When we cannot see back to the start of the window, the result says so and shows your recent pace.
Do I need to log in or connect my account?
No. It reads what is already public on your profile. There is nothing to connect and we never ask for a password. It does not work on private accounts.
Is the Monetization Checker free?
Yes, with no account. Each person gets a few checks a day, which keeps it free for everyone. If your views fell lately, the Views Drop Checker shows whether it is a real drop.
