What you get back
ExampleYour posts by time of day, against your normal
- Morning0.6x4 posts
- Afternoon0.8x4 posts
- Evening1.6x9 posts
- Late night1.0x1 post, too few
Your posts in the evening do best: a median of 1.6x your normal, against 0.8x in the afternoon.
When is the best time to post?
The one your own posts point to. Charts that name one best hour average many different accounts, and your audience is not an average. Put your recent posts into four parts of the day, compare each with your normal, and only call a winner when it leads clearly over several posts. The checker above does it from your handle, in your time zone, and says plainly when timing has not been the difference.
When your own posts do best, in your time zone
Your recent posts, placed by when they went up and measured against your normal. This is what comes back when you type your handle.
01
Your best time of day
Four parts of the day, each the median of its posts against your normal, with how many posts are behind it.
02
Your best days
Each day of the week, and weekdays against weekends. Days with too few posts show faint.
03
When your hits went up
The posts that beat your normal by 2x, with the day and the hour.
04
When to post next
Three steps from your own read. In the example, the first is:

What makes it worth using
Your posts, not an average
It reads your own account, so the answer fits your audience, not everyone’s.
It says when timing is not the difference
If your times land about the same, it says so instead of naming a winner.
In your time zone
Your browser places every post in your own zone. Your location is never sent to us.
Free, with no account
No sign-up, no email wall and no login to your socials.
How to find your best time to post by hand
It is the same method the checker uses.
List when each post went up, in your own time zone. Leave out pinned posts and anything under 48 hours old.
Put each one in a part of the day. We use four: morning (5am to noon), afternoon (noon to 5pm), evening (5pm to 10pm), late night (10pm to 5am).
Compare each part with your normal. Divide each post’s views by your normal (the median views of your recent posts), then take the median for each part of the day. A median, so one viral post does not decide it.
Only call a winner when it leads clearly. A part of the day needs 3 posts before it counts. 1.5x the next best over four posts or more is a clear lead. 1.2x is a lean worth testing. Anything less means timing has not been the difference.
Why the post usually matters more than the hour
What to keep in mind before you move your posting time.
- A time slot holds whatever you posted in it. If your rankings go up in the evening and your vlogs in the morning, the evening wins for reasons that are not the hour. Test one change at a time.
- Most creators post at the same time out of habit. Then there is nothing to compare yet. The checker says so and gives you a small test instead of a guess.
- A chart for every account is an average. Charts that name one best hour average many different accounts. Your audience is not an average, which is why this reads your own posts.
How often to post is a separate question. The Posting Schedule builds a month you can keep.
What it cannot see
It answers a narrower question than your own analytics.
- When your followers are online. That lives in your own analytics, behind your login. We never ask for it.
- When people actually saw a post. It knows when a post went up, not when it was shown to people.
- Where your audience lives. It reads times in your time zone. If most of your audience is somewhere else, keep that in mind.
If your views fell lately, the Views Drop Checker shows whether it is a real drop and what changed.
Questions people ask
What is the best time to post on TikTok?
The one your own TikToks point to. Type your handle at the top of this page and the checker places each of your recent TikToks in a part of the day and a day of the week, in your time zone, and compares how each did against your normal.
What is the best time to post Reels on Instagram?
Read it from your own Reels. Pick Instagram above, type your handle, and the checker shows which parts of the day and which days your Reels did best, with how many Reels sit behind each one.
What is the best time to post YouTube Shorts?
Pick Shorts above and type your channel handle. The checker reads when your recent Shorts went up and how each did against your channel’s normal.
What is the best time to post for my account?
Compare your own posts by when they went up. Group them into four parts of the day, measure each against your normal, and only call a winner when it leads clearly over several posts. That is what the checker does, in your time zone.
Does the time I post actually matter?
Sometimes, and your numbers can tell you. For many accounts the read is that timing has not been the difference, and the post itself matters more than the hour. The checker says that plainly when it is true.
What is the best day to post?
The checker compares each day of the week with your normal, and names a best day only when it leads the next one by 1.3x or more, with at least 3 posts on each. It also shows weekdays against weekends.
Which time zone does it use?
Yours. Your browser tells the page your time zone, and every post is placed in it. Nothing about your location is sent to us.
How many posts does it need?
A part of the day needs 3 posts before it is compared, and you need two parts like that for a read. With fewer, the checker shows what it has and gives you a test to run.
Why does it say there is no clear winner?
Because the gap between your best time and your next best is under 1.2x, or there are too few posts behind it. That is an answer too: pick the time you can keep and spend your effort on the post.
Should I post at the same time every day?
Posting at a time you can keep makes your numbers easier to read. If you always post at one time, the checker cannot compare it with anything, so it suggests one post a week at another time as a test.
Can it see when my followers are online?
No. That lives in your own analytics, behind your login, and we never ask for it. The checker reads when your posts went up and how they did.
Do I need to log in or connect my account?
No. It reads what is already public. There is nothing to connect and we never ask for a password. It does not work on private accounts.
Is Best Time to Post free?
Yes, with no account. Each person gets a few checks a day, which keeps it free for everyone. For how often to post, the Posting Schedule builds a schedule you can keep.
