Jeremiah Watkins is a stand-up and character comedian, originally from Kansas, who led the house band on Kill Tony for most of its Los Angeles run, playing saxophone and turning up as a different character every week. He also created and hosts Stand-Up on the Spot, an improvised stand-up show in Los Angeles that has run since 2010, and plays Dave Gunther, a character with his own videos on Jeremiah’s YouTube and a seat on the Trailer Tales podcast. He voiced the Joker on DC Super Hero Girls and has hour specials on Amazon Prime and YouTube. When Kill Tony moved to Austin in January 2021 he was not part of the new lineup, and in September 2026 he came back as a featured guest on episode #787.

Questions people ask

Who is Jeremiah Watkins?

Jeremiah Watkins is a stand-up comedian and character performer. The Comic’s Comic describes him as a Kansas native who trained at The Second City and The Groundlings, and for more than a decade he has hosted Stand-Up on the Spot, a show where comedians take audience suggestions and build a set on the spot. His site lists the voice of the Joker on DC Super Hero Girls, Carpool Karaoke, Roast Battle, Jimmy Kimmel Live, HBO’s Crashing and Dr. Phil LIVE among his credits. Kill Tony fans know him from the Los Angeles years, when he fronted the house band in a new costume every Monday.

What happened to Jeremiah Watkins on Kill Tony? Why did he leave or quit, and why is he not on it anymore?

He has not given a public reason that we could source, and nothing on the record describes him quitting. What is public: Kill Tony’s own episode notes first list him on #8 in July 2013 and credit him on almost every episode from #141 (recorded January 25, 2016) to #486 (recorded December 14, 2020), more than 300 in all; #244 in January 2018 was even titled “Kill Jeremiah.” Episode #486 was the last one taped in Los Angeles. From #487 the show recorded in Austin, Texas, per Wikipedia’s Kill Tony article, with a different band, and he was not in it. Introducing him in September 2026, Tony Hinchcliffe said he led the band “up until the very last episode shot in Los Angeles, he played the saxophone, did different characters every week, and was hilarious.”

Is Jeremiah Watkins still on Kill Tony?

Not as a regular, but he has been back. The show’s notes list him in the cast of #605 (recorded March 27, 2023), and he was a billed guest, next to Harland Williams, on #787, recorded in Austin on September 21, 2026. Tony introduced him that night as “Jeremiah Watkins as himself,” with no costume, and signed off calling him the show’s “former band leader.” As of October 2026 he is not in the band or the regular cast.

What happened between Jeremiah Watkins and Tony Hinchcliffe?

Nothing on the record that we could find. Neither of them has described a falling out in anything we could source. What is public points the other way: on #787 in September 2026, Tony called him “our dear friend, one of our old rabble rousers,” plugged his new special and his monthly Stand-Up on the Spot show at The Comedy Store, and said “we love you, buddy.” Their working history runs from 2013 to the show’s last Los Angeles taping in December 2020.

Is Jeremiah Watkins Dave Gunther?

Yes, in the sense that Dave Gunther is one of his characters. The videos sit on Jeremiah’s own YouTube channel, from a “Dave Gunther: Cirque de Soleil Audition Tape (2014)” to Dave Gunther mukbangs and a trip to Australia. His site says he co-hosts the Trailer Tales podcast, and the Trailer Tales channel lists its hosts as Trailer Trash Tammy, Crystal and Dave Gunther; it was formerly The Scissor Bros, with Jeremiah and Steebee Weebee. Dave also turns up in Trailer Tales segments on Dr. Phil LIVE.

Is Jeremiah Watkins the Joker? What movies and TV shows has he been in?

He voiced the Joker on DC Super Hero Girls, per his site and Famous Birthdays. His other listed credits include Carpool Karaoke, Roast Battle, Lights Out with David Spade, Netflix’s Historical Roasts, Jimmy Kimmel Live, HBO’s Crashing and Nickelodeon’s The Casagrandes. His first hour, Family Reunion, is on Amazon Prime; The Comic’s Comic reported he filmed it over the 2019 holidays at The Comedy Club of Kansas City. His second hour, Daddy, and his newest special, Crazy Pizza, released in September 2026, are on YouTube. He also plays characters in Adam Ray’s Dr. Phil LIVE shows.

Is Jeremiah Watkins a clean comedian?

Neither he nor any press we found calls the act clean. His site describes an off-the-cuff, physical style, and his YouTube stand-up and crowd work clips regularly take on dating and sex, while his Kill Tony years were on an explicit podcast. He has done family work too: the Joker on DC Super Hero Girls and Nickelodeon’s The Casagrandes. So the honest answer is that it depends on the room.

How old is Jeremiah Watkins, and what is his real name?

He is 37. Famous Birthdays gives his birthday as December 15, 1988. He performs as Jeremiah Watkins everywhere, and no other name has been published by him or by major press.

Where is Jeremiah Watkins from? Does he live in Tennessee?

Kansas. The Comic’s Comic calls him a Kansas native, and he taped his first special in Kansas City. We found nothing on the record saying he lives in Tennessee. What is public is that he still hosts Stand-Up on the Spot monthly at The Comedy Store in Los Angeles, as Tony Hinchcliffe said on #787.

Where can I watch Jeremiah Watkins? Is he on tour?

His stand-up, crowd work and specials are on YouTube, the improv show is on the Stand-Up on the Spot channel, and Trailer Tales is on its own channel. He posts as @jeremiahstandup on Instagram, TikTok and X. Tour dates and tickets are linked from jeremiahwatkins.com. His Kill Tony band years are in the show’s archive, episodes 141 to 486.

What is Jeremiah Watkins’s net worth?

Jeremiah Watkins does not publish a number and neither do we.

What about his family, faith, health or personal life?

Not something we cover.

Who represents Jeremiah Watkins?

His site lists The Gersh Agency for booking and personal appearances and names Amy Zvi as his manager, plus a personal contact email. Ames Create does not represent him; we cover him because he led the Kill Tony band through its Los Angeles years and people still ask why he is not there now. If that changes, this entry will say so.

Our read

Ames Create does not work with Jeremiah Watkins. This is our view, from a team that works on creator brands for a living.

The format. Most of what he does is built in the moment: Stand-Up on the Spot is a whole show of sets made from audience suggestions, and his crowd work clips run on the same muscle. The other half is characters, from the weekly Kill Tony band costumes to Dave Gunther, played completely straight, which is where the laugh lives.

Why it travels. Crowd work and improvised sets cut cleanly into short clips, and the characters give fans something to repeat and look for. Kill Tony put him in front of its audience every week for years, and the September 2026 return reminded a newer Austin audience who the band leader was.

Brand fit. Comedy-adjacent brands, food and drink, and anything with a sense of humor about itself: the Dave Gunther mukbangs already show how a product can sit inside a character bit. The material runs adult in clubs and on podcasts, so family brands would need the voice-acting side of his work, not the stand-up.
